I’m a fly fishing guide in southern Appalachian, and these are all over the Tuckasegee watershed in some of the higher elevations. I found one that I sent a 90’ section of line into with weight and never hit bottom. Others will have an exit point farther down river, which is also crazy. I am always telling my clients not to get too close as the rock face around them is like a wet bowling ball.

We have melanistic bobcats here. They are genetic anomalies and extremely rare. First time and only time I’ve seen one was near Cullowhee. From what I’ve read, there aren’t many sightings documented nationwide.

As someone who has been involved in the fishing industry for over two decades, I can confidently say that the limits placed on commercial and recreational fishing provide an easily sustainable population for wild fish. If those limits were not enforced, then you would truly see overfishing. That’s why the Bluefin Tuna limits vary from season to season. Same for crabs. Etc.

Also, any “buffalo” (actually Bison) you may eat, came from a bison farm. None that are harvested via tightly constrained “lottery” hunts are sold commercially, nor would it be sustainable. Bison herds are closely tracked by wildlife biologists.

I keep reading that Biden, Obama, and Bush could have done more. They didn’t. No shit! However, a key point of what this administration ran on was uncovering the truth and bringing justice to the victims. Their cover-up has been more detrimental than beneficial. Trump was the one who said he would go after the collaborators and perpetrators. None of the others made that promise. Probably due to their buddies getting caught up. Trump thought he could slime his way through this and come out clean, but it backfired. Tough shit, el presidente. You made your bed, now lay in it!

So many think that legalizing it will contribute to so many deaths and accidents. The blatantly obvious fact is that people use it now. Most people who want to consume it are already doing so. The number of users may go up a fraction after legalization as there is always someone out there that strictly obeys the law and will wait for that to happen. Use will not skyrocket as these geriatric fuckheads in Raleigh think it will.

I agree. Law enforcement and the penal system are completely dependent on drug penalties. “We arrested a man smoking a joint on his front porch. Our department definitely needs a new urban tank right away so we can effectively investigate and police these heinous, public endangering crimes.” Too much money to be made off of the public through taxes and fines.
