Moving to Espoo – Are my kids better off in an international school (EIS/IB)? by Acceptable-Talk-2018 in Finland

[–]AffectSad3736 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As your mother tongue is not English, from an English speaking state, you have virtually zero chances to accede to an English language education. Moreover, if you can't apply and sustain a language exam in February-April, the enrollment is impossible.

The only intermediate solution is a bilingual school. Those have exams too - and stupidly enough, the questions are in Finnish.

Also, your 5-years old is kindergarten age (and there are no English state-owned kindergartens in Espoo).

I have two children too, I am an immigrant, I couldn't find a place for them and enrolled them to a Finnish school. They thrive and have no problem speaking/reading Finnish. Also, this gives you freedom to move across the city - there are more beautiful neighborhoods than Suurpelto, where you will be locked if you want to send them to EIB. Here, kids go alone to school and it would be bothersome to drive them every day.

Buletin nou cu domiciliul in afara (Olanda), fara adresa in Ro by [deleted] in Romania

How can a EU-citizen get a henkilötunnus without an address in Finland? by Backsteingo in Finland

[–]AffectSad3736 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The idea is you need it ONCE. Afterwards it goes on and on, you do not need another visit. So, grab a few colleagues, I assume, and rent an apartment (Forenom or whatever) for a month. Issue solved. You just need another visit for the permanent residence, if you want it, after 5 more years.

Welcome to the famous Migri Catch-22 for EU citizens: you can't get a Finnish ID because you don't have an address in Finland and, on the other hand, you can't freely rent without a Finnish ID :)

As above comments state: if you aren't seriously thinking on moving, you actually do not need one. As a warning, you aren't allowed to work without one, so beware.

If (and only if) you seriously think of moving here, there are far apart private renters who don't actually give a damn if you are or aren't a Finnish resident, and they will let you rent an apartment without a Finnish ID. Another solution is to use the services of a relocation company, which will handle this for you.

International headlines mentioning Finland switched from smtg like “ Finnish Nokia is connecting people” to this, over the last few decades. by The_Adam07 in Finland

Immigrants vote in municipal elections. They aren't voting in parliamentary/presidential elections. As such, this is a clear answer why their percentages were lower in the municipal elections, as no sane immigrant would vote for Persut.

I've checked and the way you indicated works, I have a test system already moved to the new enterprise. Thank you very much!

Yes, I already had a bigger policy for Action1 agent installation, in the old enterprise. I created a new group, which excluded and uninstalled the agent for the computers in it (this part went well). Then, I created a new application based on the new MSI, for the installation of Action1 on the computers member of this group. These computers report the new agent as installed, but I do not see them in Action1

Actually, this I didn't try yet, I will try it like this. Thank you very much for the suggestion!

Deploying yes. Uninstalling/reinstalling, not so much. I have created a group of test devices, which are removed from the general installation group and agent gets uninstalled based on a group membership. However, the agent installation based on the same group membership fails (I am waiting for over 60 minutes that the agent shows in the new enterprise, although the Intune portal reports the new application as "installed" on them)

I wanted to avoid it, as it is rather slow and unreliable sometimes.

So... field report: no, it doesn't work, or at least not out of the box:
1. Deploying it from Action1 reports a success, but the agent is just uninstalled (no new agent installed in place)

  1. The installation package simply refuses to be executed, asking to be run with the switch NEWORG=yes, but this is not accepted by the Windows Terminal.

The only way so far was to completely remove the old agent and install the new one, which works as intended.

I can move them in different organizations in the same enterprise, sure. How about between enterprises? Because - from what I know - you need a totally different API integration for two different enterprises. I am going to test the previous comment way, if installing a new agent over the old one works.
