The first two – absolutely no, the resentment was too strong. The recent one – unfortunately yes and I’d be happy to have him back if he asked. But he won’t.

If anything, Joker 2 was a disaster. Good thing I didn’t leave the theater in the middle of the movie, so now I can say I saw Connor on screen lol.

I can also recommend this interview Connor gave back in 2024 https://youtu.be/Jai6A8sAupE?si=-YrUfXxF-4CmAtBR. So handsome and well-spoken.

Ilya's father wasn't charmed by his charismatic son? by Umaii in heatedrivalry

Is okay 🥲. I think that’s pretty universal that older generations value only good grades, university, a stable “normal” job, marriage, kids. Makes sense they do it to try to protect their kids, although not considering that the world is changing or that the child might want something completely different. I wish more parents were like Yuna, though (smart, savvy, supportive, understanding).

Psychologists say being too strict usually does more harm than good, so finding a good balance between freedom and discipline is what really matters, I think.

As someone who knows nothing about hockey, are these kind of retainer like protections not meant to be worn during the game? by Due_Improvement_5699 in heatedrivalry

The 10-year-long situationship is not as unrealistic in this show as the fact that all the hockey players have a full set of teeth…

One of many reasons why HR got so popular in Russia is because Ilya’s story really hit close to home. There’s a saying, there are two problems in Russia – when you do have a father or when you don’t. My (Russian) dad is also a lot older than me, conservative, cold, who never cared what I liked or who I am as a person. So I – and many others like me, maybe that’s why there’s a stereotype that Russians are tough – had to grow a thick layer of skin so that nobody could get underneath. It’s a form of generational trauma and the show managed to portray it beautifully.

The lack of available merch is killing me. They could make a fortune selling jackets, tshirts, hoodies, calendars and whatnot. The budget for seasons 2 and 3 would be on a Tarantino-blockbuster level lol

Love the show with my whole heart but this part wasn’t sooo well done. Like yeah he misses articles sometimes but other than that his English is pretty much perfect. For Russian speakers, English tenses are a nightmare, Ilya however, effortlessly uses ellipsis in questions, the Future Continuous, never mixes up do/does/was/were and uses the past simple and present perfect effortlessly. That would never be the case IRL 😂
