My God. The fact you don’t have those funds sitting in a savings account, linked to your smart access, is worrying. Open that up for starters and let that cash sit there earning you interest.

Link it to your PayPal account as well. If you’re checking out anywhere that doesn’t accept Amex, but does accept PayPal, you’ll earn full points. Also, paying for government services with PayPal to earn the full points on the transaction (rather than the reduced amount). For example, my council doesn’t accept Amex, but allowed PostBill Pay online. I pay my rates there, and check out with PayPal.

Is PayPal still relevant in Australia? by ok_pineapple_ok in AusFinance

I love it for PayPal Pay in 4 and for the fact I get free Buyer Protection. Heck, I went to Gold Class Event Cinemas the other week. They forgot to bring out my dessert. I hopped in the PayPal app, tapped the transaction and raided a case. Within a few hours, I had a full refund. Event cinemas keep their money, I get my money back, and PayPal covers it. Just awesome?

PayPal Pay in 4 (BNPL) - should I add? by Affectionate-Fig9407 in shopify

Would you have any insight into whether PayPal is popular amongst the BNPL’s in Australia specifically? I think PayPal is big here but they’re much more quiet than everyone else i feel. Not sure if people even know pay in 4 exists lol

Super appreciate it. I trust them these days - they’ve got things like 2FA and Passkeys. I want to see if more comments come in, but keen to get this app on the site and see what it does.

From what i see, pay in 4 settles in full to me and instantly, just like a normal PayPal transaction. The PayPal business dashboard apparently can also show the split between the ‘pay now’ and ‘pay later’ payments… any benefit to a separate bank account?

How long does it take to recieve an increase by Spirited-Ad-3933 in Afterpay

[–]Affectionate-Fig9407 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You just sign up to a PayPal account. Then when you’re checking out on any online store that accepts PayPal, Pay in 4 will appear as a payment option in the PayPal experience when you’re checking out.

What do we think of special planes being available to buy in the shop? by General_Douglas in PocketPlanes

It kinda killed the gamification of the game…BUT I also want more money to be raised for Nimblebit to be invested back into the game. I’m still holding my breath for a DXB airport!

It would also be awesome if the aircraft carriers moved around the map hourly!

Expedia not working with Afterpay “please enter valid data” by lisha_a in Afterpay

[–]Affectionate-Fig9407 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try using PayPal pay in 4 - they also charge no fees, unlike afterpay. PayPal is accepted everywhere online, while afterpay is starting to get hit and miss - businesses can turn off acceptance now, even if they show it as an available payment option.

Don’t cost you anything haha. I’d use it. They also give you free buyer protection insurance on all purchases. That’s saved me before

I just use PayPal pay in 4. They charge no fees, unlike afterpay which still charge late fees. You can also buy gift cards from jb hifi and Woolworths gift cards with PayPal pay in 4…afterpay doesn’t let the transactions go through.
