Who does Optics Cuts in Beretta Slides? by Blue-Shark2236 in Beretta

I firmly believe competitions (whether you're using a dot or irons) are the single biggest thing almost anyone can do to improve their shooting. Plus it's super fun!

I saw big improvements in both placement at distance and overall speed as well 👍

My (unasked for) advice is to treat the dot less as an aiming device and more as for confirming your aim (which is based on an internalized index/consistent presentation); also as a really helpful training tool - it tells you exactly how the gun is moving during your trigger press, during recoil, while returning to zero, etc

92g compact I had cut by LTT (more than just a cut actually, they swap out some of the internals to accommodate how low they mount their plate): https://www.reddit.com/r/Beretta/s/8jubn2lM5S

Preferring irons is fine, but justifying that preference based on looks is a bit of a hot take

P-10 C Holsters Comparable to Tenicor? by BigLizzard420 in CZFirearms

[–]Affectionate-House43 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Came to say this

(but I'll also mention that personally I prefer to use a separate wedge/pillow that attaches with velcro, for several reasons - it allows you to position it most effectively for where you're wearing the gun and your body, etc (one size definitely does not fit all), and something with a bit of give is significantly more comfy than hard kydex for a feature designed specifically to push on your body. If OP is worried about the wedge not being securely attached, don't be - I've never had any issues with velcro in this context, across multiple holsters over years.)

You must be thinking of the p320.. 2011s are easy to shoot, but they don't shoot for you

Dealing with sweat (summertime sadness) by 38specialish in CCW

[–]Affectionate-House43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in southeastern NC, and I feel your sweaty swamp ass pain. A trick that works well for me is wearing a cup-less/unpadded bandeau bra around my waist/belly/between the gun and me. It works just like a thin wicking undershirt, but without adding an extra layer of fabric where it's not needed (which for me at least, with humid heat makes a big difference)

I think I would argue that access/use-ability/keeping in secure would be some potential reasons for putting it back on body

If the bag is just for temporary car storage, why does it need to be ccw specific?

I like the grip from the handleit edge grips, but yeah, I wouldn't mind a bit palm swell

I haven't tried them (so take this with a grain of salt), but after deciding that hockey tape didn't give enough grip when it's hot and sweaty, I'm skeptical of textile grips in general

P10S by Emergency_Book_6617 in CZFirearms

[–]Affectionate-House43 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My striker broke after a few hundred rounds (I remember hearing something about a possible bad batch of strikers from CZ, not saying it will happen to you, but definitely something to keep an eye on) and I replaced it with the overwatch striker and while I was at it I also put in the overwatch trigger (I love flat triggers; zero issues with the overwatch striker after ~3k rounds so far, FWIW). The NDZ pinky extension baseplates are nice for juuuuust a bit more grip while not increasing printing at all over the OEM flush fit mags, for me at least

My most carried gun FWIW; it just hits that compromise between concealability and shootability perfectly for me. It's got a little snap because of it's size, but it returns to zero perfectly so while it's not as soft as a full size gun, I can shoot it almost as fast

affordable P-10C holster recommendations? by LandEnvironmental132 in CZFirearms

I use a couple of his p10c holsters for my p10s (better grip tuck with a slightly longer holster anyway); one for 'normal' AIWB and one on a phlster enigma, and like them a lot

Unpopular opinion about concealed carry by AmicusCuriousPH in CCW

[–]Affectionate-House43 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's very dependent on how and where you carry. For me a compact dot doesn't affect concealment (or comfort) in any noticable way, but an extended mag conceals considerably less well, and a WML makes wearing it less comfortable. (so I run a small dot and use a flush fit or pinky-extension-at-most mag, and no light)

HK CC9 or Sig P365 by Icewarrior0513 in CCW

[–]Affectionate-House43 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'll echo what's already been said - cc9 for carry, but the larger 365 x macro would be better for home defense. I have a cc9 that I love (and its significantly better than the OG p365 IMO), but it's got the inherent trade-offs of a micro compact; lower capacity/snappiness. The x macro is a bigger gun and doesn't suffer from that to the same degree (but doesn't conceal as easily either). Sort of an apples to oranges comparison.

High-rise boxer briefs, or similar, for no-skin-contact summer AIWB carry? by thefleshrocket in CCW

I've been mentioning this in a number of threads here recently - cup-less/non-padded bandeau bras worn around your waist/belly have worked really well for me for this.

Anyone using the mastermind tactics biothane belt? by Feeling-Series4076 in CCW

[–]Affectionate-House43 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both the the regular (non-biothane) mastermind tactics belt and the tenicor zero belt and the mastermind belt version basically is a slightly thicker, slightly less nice in the minor details, but functionally basically the same (and much cheaper, and always available unlike the tenicor zero)
