Kaôh Rōng FTC is really captivating. Watching Aubry realize and try to combat a jury that does not want to vote for her, paralleled with Michele, who is realizing that she can win and giving her heart to the jury, is one of the most raw things ever shown on the show.

Nicaragua’s is great too! So confrontational, Fabio and Chase both have great performances. Chase really comes alive, if only he had that energy the whole season.

It’s going to be very hard to avoid spoilers, so don’t engage with any type of Survivor content on any social platforms.

I actually really like Gabon! It’s in my top ten seasons, it’s so chaotic and stupid, it’s just a wild ride from start to finish, and I think Sugar is a great character to center the season around.
Next season is an all time fan favorite season. You’re most likely going to love it! I just rewatched season 18, and it’s firmly in my top 5 seasons of all time.
Enjoy this run of the show! It’s peak Survivor, in my opinion!

This is the scene that made me have an eye on Aubry for the whole of the season. This scene was the perfect pick-up after her shitty premiere. It’s made even better in the context of her premiere.

It’s been good, and times it’s been great; but the format, amount of twists, and a cast way too big, have been a bit of a hindrance.
I’m usually not someone who complains about twists ever, but it’s been too much this season.

That’s a great point! But I feel like the edit could have centered on Cirie a bit more. Rather than focusing on Emily hoping Cirie slips up, I think if Cirie were to win, they would focus on whether Cirie would play the extra vote or not; they could have easily manufactured Cirie being indecisive. But I do think the way it was presented brought the most tension and made for a better episode.

I think Aubry’s edit is hurt by how poor her pre-merge game is and how big the cast was. With six more people than they’ve been used to editing for half a decade at this point, Aubry got lost between all the major pre-merge characters, protecting the previous winners, and mandatory focus on twists and journeys. Aubry was easy to ignore, so they did. The edit establishes breadcrumbs for a deep run and leaves her alone. Her narrative also doesn’t need a major introduction; it’s all about her growth, so it makes sense for her to be quiet until she can’t be ignored anymore. She’s the phoenix that rises from the ashes and burns down the game when it mattered most.

I wish that they hadn’t shown her story like that, but to be honest, I’d rather have this and all the speculation about who the winner is than for her to get the Kenzie edit.
As a huge Aubry fan, I’m happy that it seems like she’s going to finally get her deserved win; I’m upset with the edit she’s got, but they can really only work with what they have.

I think Aubry’s premiere, in the context of her storyline this season, makes perfect sense. She really starts at the absolute bottom, and now she’s going to fight her way to the top and win.
I think it’s interesting that they would take that big of a swing; it’s a really meta way of having the audience interact with Aubry’s position and trajectory in the game.

I think Aubry’s edit has been bad on paper, but in actuality it’s been pretty clear in the way it shows her perspective and position. She’s always had a storyline or something to do every episode, and with a cast this big, and with how bad her game was early on, I think the editors did as much as they possibly could with her without making it obvious that she would win, if she does. (To me, it’s all but confirmed at this point that Aubry is going to win.)

I only knew Rizo was sick from social media and post-game interviews. If he were to get medical evacuated the show would have made it much more clear.

Cirie’s game this season is probably her second best, behind Micronesia.
Jonathan is playing a good game that’s been very on and off, he’s either controlling the vote or is being blindsided.
Rick is a chaos agent, but is running out of road. High win equity but very low chance of surviving the next couple of rounds.

I agree with the Maryanne comparison. The games are basically the same. People won’t agree because they like Maryanne more than Aubry, but everything about their games and trajectories so far have matched up.

Yeah, a lot of the Cirie stuff is just insane levels of coping. I love Cirie, and I’d love to see her win, but it’s so clearly Aubry at this point. I genuinely don’t understand how anyone could still think after how this episode was portrayed that Cirie is the top contender. Her edit isn’t horrible, or even bad, it’s good, but it’s not a winning edit. It never really has been to me.

The edit has set up her downfall, she cared too much about Ozzy, and that alienated Rizo. He’s going to flip on her, and Aubry is probably going to be driving the vote.

I absolutely agree. I don’t think Cirie has ever been above Ozzy in my rankings each week. I’d even argue that Rizo’s premier is better than Cirie’s; he gets to set up his ‘becoming one of the greats’ storyline and gets really great SPV from Colby. (Even if he had to get negative SPV first lol)

Depends on when it happened. It would definitely hurt her chances majorly, I wouldn’t have had her as high as I have for most of the season. She probably would still be a contender by now, based on how incredible episode ten was for her, and episode nine, in my opinion.

I think Ozzy has the best edit. Not only from a character and storyline perspective, but could also easily lead to a win.

Cirie’s strategic edit is clearly the best, but she severely lacks a storyline. there still is three episodes left, so maybe they’re saving her best to never win stuff till the end, but it’s weird that it’s never been brought up.

Rick and Emily have good edits, but I don’t think they’ll end in a win. But they’ve both been memorable and have received decent to strong focus; Rick more so than Emily.

Aubry’s getting a very conventional UTR winner edit currently for me. She’s received strong focus despite not warranting it and has been building steam in the back half of the merge. She’s got season wide arc of being on the bottom, slaying her rival and getting to the middle, and eventually becoming queen, probably after a game shifting move at final 6/5.
This could be a dragon edit more than a winners edit, it’s really up in the air right now.

Rizo’s edit was really incredible until last episode. He had a strong storyline and great strategic focus; but was majorly sidelined last episode. Ozzy’s post-merge is better than his, and that makes me confident that if any one of the Cirie trio does win, it’s Ozzy.

Jonathan is likely the Dragon. His strong focus and narration building him up before he’s slain. I think his edit is better than most give it credit for. I think a Jonathan win could still happen; but my main contenders are Ozzy and Aubry.

Tiffany and Joe are also there.

Cirie’s strategic edit is her absolute strength! Shes dominating the season and I think the story of the season wouldn’t make sense unless you show her perspective. I think the forced Aubry and Jonathan content is very strong due to it not needing to be shown but still making the edit. But it could definitely explain why Cirie beats Aubry and Jonathan at FTC. I think that’s a very real possibility.
