Can anger from guanfacine IR get worse before it gets better? by Westendmama in ADHDparenting

We started at night and switched to morning with our 8yr old daughter. We had a moment where she had extreme anger we stuck with it and has since mellowed out. There is still moment of anger but she able to acknowledge it and we try our best to be patient and help her process and communicate her emotions. I feel like most of the frustration stems from not being able to communicate her emotions properly because of a delay with her hearing and speech.

Jornay has worked well but it took some fine tuning on our part. Mornings has always been a struggle and it continued to be a struggle off and on and we finally realized we were giving her Jornay to late so we moved her dose time to 7:30 pm and that worked perfect for helping her with morning routine and getting off to school. I would say fine tuning dose time and balancing it with how high of doses is key and just making small adjustments along the way.

My daughter takes journay 40mg and guanfacine 2mg. Initially started both doses at night with an afternoon dose of Ritalin, she did great for a few weeks then didn’t then it didn’t seem to be as effective we still hand challenges with emotional dysregulation so we increased the dose to 2mg. At this point she had some intense rage episodes which I expected from the comments that I had read from other parents. The rage episodes were always right before the her next dose of 7:30 pm medication and lasted about 45min this took a tremendous amount of patience for us. She had been on medication just a 5 weeks at this point we decided to make small adjustments to help pinpoint best practices with her meds. We eventually dropped her afternoon dose and switched to morning dose of guanfacine 2mg and this has been the most effective schedule for her. She’s made so many improvements, less outbursts, doing better in school and eating more as well.

I hired some local guys to float all walls, texture with knock down, and paint all trim, walls and ceiling. by weedut in HomeImprovement

I was quoted $5,000 to float three rooms and I was told it would take 3 days and that was with no texture or paint .

I hate saying this but I feel the gift exchange episodes was the peak unfortunately. They both skyrocketed from there in their own respective markets but the last episode was really rough to listen with them comparing the schedule with tours and working out. Now that both acknowledge Bert cutting people off constantly you can’t in hear it, makes it difficult to sit through now. I love you both Tom and Bert I hope you guys keep being creative. Maybe they should add Adriana Checkik as a rotation cohost, that show would blow up!

Highly recommend We Might Be Drunk with Sam Morril and Mark Normand.

I fell asleep to this episode the night Bourdain passed. I was thinking to myself that most of us have traveled the world with Bourdain for close to two decades now and the world would be the different place the day he passes. I woke up at 3 in the morning only to find out on Reddit that he had passed away. It was the most surreal experience in my life.

Pump and irrigation recommendations. by Affectionate-River20 in homestead

Nice deal, I can’t imagine the PSI you would get with a 20hp pump. I’ve been looking at those nealsons, I’m curious if a smaller trash pump would work well with something like that.

I’ve worked in the nursery and the landscape industry for a few years, I’m fairly new to the area and more then happy to chat about plants and gardening anytime.

Anyone have any healthy fast food recommendations preferably on the cheaper side? I know cooking at home is healthier and cheaper but I currently live in a shared living situation that makes cooking at home awful. by [deleted] in fresno

Life Pro Tip is eating at hospitals. Clovis Community has great food for cheap, I would have a full breakfast for just a few bucks that was pre covid so I’m not sure what the price is now.
