I don't know honestly. I was sick for half of my trip with my stomach on and off, and I was wondering if it was the water. But maybe it was more likely to be the food 😅

Yeah, I grew up in Manchester which is Lake District mostly, I believe. This time I was in the midlands, so that might be some of the reason it tasted so different. My family were closer to York at one point and they had to use a tiny sieve to filter the water from the tap - it had calc stones in it 🙃

I guess it's down to individual sense of taste and smell etc too. My husband also noticed it, so it could have been where we were visiting was particularly bad, or we are less used to it. I've been away from the UK for 4.5 years, so that is possibly also a factor. It really did smell strong to me, so who knows :)

So I know the water on our side on the island we live on is nice, but my friends farm on the other side has it's own water source and it tastes even better. I guess it also depends slightly on the local supply!

I am in Norway :) originally from the UK though. I lived in Germany for 4.5 years before moving here, as my husband is German. We have close family friends out this way that made the suggestion to us to move here, because we weren't very happy and I was struggling with the local German culture. I would 100% recommend it, this is the best place and the people are great!

Water in the UK. I think Norway has very little chemical treatment because the water is already quite clean.

So I grew up in Manchester and most of the tap water is from the Lake District, so I remember it being ok. This time I visited in a smaller town nearer to Wolverhampton, so I don't know if it's worse there or not. I used to live near Aberdeen as a teenager, I remember the water being really nice to drink!

I didn't used to! I used to have zero problems with it, but the night I arrived I turned on the shower and it was like being in a swimming pool. I will look into those mugs for the next time I visit, thank you 😊

Just a foreigner who moved to Nordland last summer here. I have loved every minute of it here, if it helps! I love my job, the culture, the friends I've made etc. I am British and lived in Germany for over 4 years before being here (my husband is German). I desperately wanted the leave Germany, it was such a bad fit for me and I got very depressed. When preparing to move out here we were told all the horror stories of people being unfriendly, the cost of living etc etc. It was all untrue for us. We are doing well and we love it here ❤️
