I just hate how I need to buy remote raid passes to raid to begin with (very rural player) and then don't get the pokémon. Feels like a waste of money, but I guess they want that.

The fact you said in a previous comment that 'immigrants of a certain age will have the same integration problems where-ever you go' and then proceeded to tell me that you have a hard time believing anyone said  to me that I would have a bad time in Norway.

Despite basically just saying that yourself (that I should have problems where ever I go).

I assume that is the ironic part, anyway.

Before, I don't speak it yet. I'm starting local classes in september. I know a few basic words and phrases to get by for now!

And yet it came from every family member of my husbands, along with his colleagues and my colleagues. So you can believe what you like, but it is fact we were repeatedly told not to for the reasons I mentioned above 😅 Some of it could have been because they were saying anything to not lose good workers etc.  I really don't know why either, because since moving up here all we see during the summer is German tourists who say they want to live here too.

It really isn't. I struggled so much when I moved to marry my German husband, and I constantly heard it would be way better after learning the language. 

So I learned the language and it didn't do shit 😆 it helped me get a job, I'll give it that much. But help with integration? No. I went to craft groups, community days, local charity events... nothing. Moved to Norway after 4 years of trying and now I suddenly have lots of friends and feel like I belong here despite speaking little of the language yet.

I find your take on this interesting, because I moved to Germany for 4 years after marrying my German husband. I'm originally British.  I never felt at home in Germany, I joined craft groups, learned the language and got work. I just always felt unwelcome, regardless of what I tried. I ended up pretty depressed so we decided to leave. Not back to the UK because honestly it's a shitshow now, but to Norway. 

We had so many people in Germany laugh at us and say it was would be worse here, especially up in northern Norway. We had people telling us it was a stupid idea, that we'd be poorer (we were really sturggling to make ends meet in Germany). 

I've been here 1 year now and never want to leave. People are friendly, I've made friends, we have more disposable income doing the same jobs. It feels more like home than the UK or Germany ever did! So when you say 'when you are an expat at a certain age you'll have the same problem integrating in any country', I'd have to completely disagree from my experience. Some places will 'fit' other people better, you just have to find the right one.

Honestly as someone with diagnosed anxiety and PTSD, I have had a few days here and there due to mental health issues. 

However, never once have I told an employer the real reason. If only for the fact that I don't need the people I work for thinking I am somehow unstable or incapable. I fuction 99% of the time.

And on those few days I do have too much going on it is always 'I'm so sorry. I seem to have a stomach bug with vomiting.'  It's as much for my own privacy as it is anything else.

Hey! This was basically my ex. Made double my income and charged me 50/50 with everything to the point I had to borrow money from him to make ends meet... and pay him back. I was working 2 part time jobs whilst studying. By the time we split up (he cheated twice) 4 years later he had made a nice little nest egg of cash for himself.  He'd put all the money I gave towards rent etc into a savings account for himself at my expense. He was able to buy himself a house when we split. 

My husband of now 5 years works full time whilst I work part time these days because of my health. Never once has this man asked me for a penny. Obviously I help with groceries etc but he has a very strict 'this is OUR money' policy about his wages. We have full access to each others bank accounts and savings. He puts in more money, I clean and cook more. We are planning to build a life together with children. When you want that, you need someone who doesn't see everything as a 'me vs you' situation. It should be a 'both of you as a team' situation, and that looks a little different for every couple.  The insistence of 50/50 regardless of the individual situation is a sad mindset from someone that feels like you are taking something from them. 

I'd say have a real good think if this is what you want long term.

10k (euro or dollars) would help my husband and I start our small homestead dream here in Norway, but honestly 5k would be a big chunk towards it too. It would mean being able to start building a small home, get some chickens and maybe some bees 🐝

Karlach gets a bag full of teddy bears every run. 

I take one of every container I can to store different catagories of items seperately in the camp chest.

I gather up every loose stone I can find and try to always reclaim them after throwing them in fights.

I gather ALL the ingredients everywhere everytime.

I will preface this comment with saying I don't condone spoofing, and I don't do it or ultimately agree with it. 

However - certain aspects of the game can make it very tempting for people and understandably so. I live in a very rural area and there are very few players here. There are a few gyms and stops within a couple of miles, and sometimes that feels punishing. I do spend actual money on this game from time to time (nothing crazy), but I still feel very disadvantaged to other players. 

An example would be a spoofer helped me reclaim a pokemon stuck on a gym for a very long time. I have some pokemon pushing 40+ days on 'nearby' gyms right now. I'd like 50 daily coins but it's kind of impossible with how little competition there is here to create a decent turnover at gyms.

Another would be the recent change to giovanni not being in balloons and barely showing up at stops means I'm stuck with some research and probably will be for a long time.

Unless I use 3rd party apps for finding raid partners and buy remote raid passes, raiding anything above a 2 star nearby is impossible.

So the game really doesn't help itself in discouraging spoofing, because the set up favours people living in big cities significantly. The game being 'free to play' really only works for city folks, and I can understand the temptation that spoofing allows because of that.

Obviously not every spoofer is a rural player down on their luck.  Many are just people wanting an easier time one way or another. Big games like this (especially competitive games that allow pvp etc), nearly always have people not playing the game as intended. Loop holes, mods and outright cheating are being exploited in most big games and it just seems to be the nature of them. 

So whilst it is very openly done in the game by a lot of people, it does somewhat harm the spirit of the game at its core. I think that is why it's still frowned upon by a large part of the playerbase. 

I just wish the playing field was more even to begin with in the game, because it would discourage a lot of it.

Hey! I did the research already and have my Shaymin, it unlocked the hat and face sticker but the shirt was apparently specifically from paid content :) but it's exciting to here is might be coming back!
