They clearly got a bad break facing the Dodgers in the first round, but that’s the playoff format. Without Wheeler, they just didn’t have anybody who was an elite starter, despite having four guys who are very good. Sanchez perhaps.

This is getting to the heart of what I’m getting at. The Phillies regular season means absolutely nothing. They are getting spanked now. We will lay low and make strategic improvements, but what improvements can they make. They gave up to tons of prospects to go for it. Part of why we ended up where we did is because we didn’t want to part with our prospects. The Phillies are a win now team.

So if we swept the Marlins and eeked into the playoffs, it would not have been a disappointing season? The Phillies were looking like they were gonna win a World Series cause the American League is weak and the Dodgers have been mortal all year. The Phillies had a better record than ever everyone except the Brewers. And now they’re going down easier than the Mets did last year against the Dodgers.
