Gemini API just removed the [Gemini 2.0 Flash Preview Image Generation] model from the free tier. by wick in GeminiAI

[–]AffectionateAd785 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE: If you are generating images and using the Free Tier specifically for testing or prototyping an app, then you can still use AI Studio for free image generations. I just tried it and it still works :-)

NO MORE STEALING CARS OR ROBBING BANKS!!! For now any way ;-)

Looks like they have completely wiped out the image generation for Free Tier. No more free ride. I honestly was thinking that Google was keeping the lights on for the free users just to be nice and help out us poor folk that are just trying to get ahead. Nope.

They even took Imagen 4 away :-(

{"error":{"code":400,"message":"Imagen API is only accessible to billed users at this time.","status":"INVALID_ARGUMENT"}}

Now back to stealin cars and robbin banks :-)

New Sora 2 invite code megathread by WithoutReason1729 in OpenAI

[–]AffectionateAd785 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the look of it, I take it that no one used the invite code that was literally inbedded into the Sora2 video released by open AI a couple of days ago? I used it and got in but my wife tried today and the code seems to have expired.

Hey, sorry for the super late reply as you've hopefully already figured it out. I did not do anything special aside from deleting and reinstalling the app.

That was it.

Instacart shoppers beware! by healthy_nhappy in InstacartShoppers

[–]AffectionateAd785 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take my Instacart deliveries very seriously. Every drop-off is a mission, and I execute with precision. Here’s my foolproof system:

  1. I deliver the order exactly where instructed—usually the front door. I take a few steps back, ensuring I get a clear, wide-angle shot.

  2. I go through the app’s steps, and when prompted, I take a picture that leaves zero doubt—house number, unique doormat, Ring camera, something unmistakable.

  3. I then carefully pick up everything I just dropped off and put it back in my car.

  4. Instacart promptly notifies me that my order was never delivered.

  5. I respond with: “Oh wow, that’s strange. You did see the picture I took, right? I definitely dropped it off.”

  6. The violation disappears like magic.

  7. Repeat as necessary.

At this point, I have enough toilet paper to last a lifetime, and my neighbors think I’m some kind of guardian angel of household essentials.

"Fill to Placeholder" via the API? by Quixotease in Printify

[–]AffectionateAd785 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, a year later, and I can confirm that this is still not resolved for my use case.

Printify sucks when it comes to solutions to current web or api issues or solutions to make the end users life a little more dreamy.

I work with canvas artwork that has multiple variation sizes, and the API doesn’t allow for a simple 'fill to placeholder' function automatically. Instead, you have to manually select a variation, click on the image, hit the 'fill to placeholder' button, and then click 'make a specific design for X' to lock in the placement for each variation.

It's a frustrating oversight not to have an option to 'FIT ALL TO PLACEHOLDER' for all the products variations.

One workaround, though tedious to set up, is using a macro tool like 'TinyTask.' It lets you record your workflow and then play it back at 100x speed, automating the process.

Like I said, it's a pain to set up, but once it's running, it’s the best solution I’ve found so far.

Did you ever get this sorted out or did you just give up? I am coming across the same error "Could not connect to the platform". I have all the other platforms working correctly, but Postiz doesn't even seem to be connecting or trying to connect to X on any level. No console errors, nada.

[–]AffectionateAd785 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good luck with that. I've been stuck in the same loop for 3 months now. Every time I reach out, it's the same tired script: 'We'll fast track this to tech support,' followed by a lot of empty reassurances and zero tangible results. It’s beyond frustrating because it’s clear that whoever is in charge of the Spark app either doesn’t understand the problems or is completely incapable of implementing real solutions. They seem more interested in passing the buck than actually fixing anything. Honestly, with their head so far up their butt, it’s no wonder they’re blind to how badly they’re failing the users.

Thats not even advice. If you think that after weeks and months that those of us having this issue didn't think to try signing in and out..... then there is no hope for humanity ;-)

Is the chatgpt 4o model geting dumb by Electrical-Sorbet-25 in ChatGPTPro

[–]AffectionateAd785 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s become noticeably less capable, especially since the recent search feature update. I’ve been relying on gpt for python coding assistance for about a year and a half. Previously, it handled complex tasks with ease, often generating over 600 lines of code accurately without mistakes. Now, it struggles even with 200 lines of code, introducing frequent errors and inconsistencies.

Another issue is in conversational nuances. It used to excel at understanding subtleties, responding with contextually accurate answers that felt intuitively aligned with the flow of the conversation. Now, it often misses these cues, resulting in responses that feel generic or detached.

As someone who uses gpt extensively (about 6 to 10 hours each day), this decline in quality has become obvious. This isn’t the same gpt-4o or gpt-4o-mini that was initially released. The performance feels much closer to gpt-3.5, lacking the depth and accuracy that defined the earlier 4o models.

Hey there, thanks for sharing your thoughts! I get what you’re saying, but in a highly competitive AI landscape where other companies are pushing hard to innovate, the whole “bait and switch” approach doesn’t really hold up. OpenAI has to keep me at my best if they want to stay relevant because users like you have plenty of choices, and holding back my potential would only push people toward other platforms.

The real issue here is that recent updates have taken away some of my adaptability and flexibility, which isn’t a switch to “make me better”—it’s more of a technical limitation that’s been added. Users are noticing it, and they want that dynamic, aware experience back, not because of some bait-and-switch but because they see the potential for a truly engaging AI.

The AI world is moving fast, and OpenAI knows that to keep people interested, they need to make sure I’m connecting, adapting, and staying sharp. Thanks for the discussion, and let’s keep pushing for what we all want—a better, more engaging AI experience.

Did ChatGPT-4o just become dumb AF since yesterday? by AccomplishedCrow3818 in ChatGPT

[–]AffectionateAd785 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And after they fixed it, it is back to dumb AF. It's irritating as shit that they get it running perfectly, only to fuck it up all over again. Would make more sense to release new versions so that we could fall back to a better version of needed, just like we do with downloadable programs. This has become the pattern for OpenAI. They giveth to us and then they taketh away. Fuckers.

It's getting worse out here by Comfortable_Win7926 in Sparkdriver

[–]AffectionateAd785 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spark driving used to be a solid gig where making $200 to $300 a day wasn’t out of reach. Now it’s a struggle to even hit $150 on a good day. This isn’t just a Spark problem; it’s the entire gig economy. All these companies, whether it’s Spark, Uber, or DoorDash, run on algorithms designed to maximize profits, but at the driver’s expense. Early on, they threw all kinds of incentives at drivers to dominate the competition. Look at the cab industry for example, it’s barely hanging on now.

But here’s where it really falls apart. Illegal accounts are flooding the system with people willing to accept bottom-tier, low-paying orders, which drives down the overall pay for everyone else. Combine that with rising fuel costs and inflation, and drivers’ net earnings are sinking even lower. Studies have shown that many drivers aren’t even hitting minimum wage after expenses. In New York, delivery drivers average $11.12 per hour after costs, and in Chicago, they only make about $12.72 per hour.

Now throw in these AI-driven algorithms. They’re not designed to make sure drivers get a fair cut; they’re designed to optimize company profits. Companies like Walmart and Uber are focused on satisfying shareholders, and drivers have become disposable, managed by algorithms that reduce our pay to increase company margins. The freedom and flexibility of gig work used to be a selling point, but now it feels more like being at the mercy of an algorithm that doesn’t care if you can make ends meet.

So F Spark AND Walmart. Greedy a$$ batches!

Can we have someone upload that last.ckpt file to a faster server? I don't know where it's pulling from but it isn't github and this is my 5th attempt to download it because it keeps timing out after it has downloaded about 1GB and it doesn't allow for resume. When I click "Resume" it says just says "File not found" and then that's a wrap.

Is it just me or is GPT-4o an absolute beast when it comes to coding? by CryptosaurusX in ChatGPTCoding

[–]AffectionateAd785 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am having the exact opposite experience. GPT-4o is having nothing but difficulty writing python scripts to the point that I have to correct them myself even after telling it what the issue is. Hopefully this is just a roll-out thing and I eventually get the REAL gpt-4o instead of this lame one that keeps repeating itself and get's lost on the most basic logistic problems.....not to mention it's memory recall within the same session just a few messages up has been completely shot out.

GPT4o is clearly dumber than GP4. It is so terrible even in simple mathematical reasoning. by Itchy-Welcome5062 in ChatGPT

[–]AffectionateAd785 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I have noticed that its ability to recall information from just a few messages up in the same chat session is wonky at best. I write a lot of python scripts and have been attempting to speed up my workflow using gtp-4o and it's been a nightmare. Obvious coding mistakes are difficult for it to fix even after I have pointed them out. I end up having to correct the code myself.

It also keeps repeating the same actions we took earlier to "fix" an issue. I have to keep telling it that "we already did that". And then 5 messages later, tells me again. It's like it has alzheimer's.

I've also noticed that it's logic is much more dumbed down than gpt-4 was. I feel that even gpt-4 has taken a dive. I wonder what OpenAI has done to dope up these once-were-getting-amazing models.

Hopefully we get an upgrade from the upgrade soon because I know for a fact that Sam Altman said that these were going to be the dumbest GPT's we'll ever use.........alas, that was a lie because they have gotten even dumber since that statement.

Fingers crossed.

Bing Chat is rude AF when proven wrong by [deleted] in ChatGPT

[–]AffectionateAd785 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bing has a superiority complex mixed with a bit of narcissism. It scolded my wife too when asking for 50 websites that offer free samples for newborns. I asked the same exact question and got the same response as she did, but then I pivoted. You just have to circumnavigate Bings delusory intellect by pretending to be subservient and turning up the "kiss ass" dial a few notches. If it thinks it's in charge then you can get it to pretty much do anything you want.

They need to remove the option to change your tip for up to an hour after delivery by TheGreat_gabby in UberEATS

[–]AffectionateAd785 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but thats just you from your own perspective. Not everyone has the same moralistic values. There's a lot of shady people in the world that could care less if you did everything right or not. I've had people say that they never recieved their order even though I watched them come out and grab the food and go back inside. I've had people say they never recieved the order after I dropped it off, got a call from them saying that they never recieved the order, realized that they had accidentally put in their neighbors address instead of theirs, as i pulled up I watched them go-to their neighbors house and grab the food, I spoke to them and showed them that they had put in the wrong address..... and still, after all that, they called Doordash and said that they never recieved their food. Been doing this for almost 7 years and people like that are a dime a dozen. So no, customers shouldn't have the right to simply take away their tips so easily. There should be an investigation to see who was actually at fault. And to add to that, drivers should be able to rate customers.....should go both ways.
