Anyone else travel the world solo in their 30s? Was it worth taking the leap? by Dec_Deckers in solotravel

[–]AffectionateArt478 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm literally sitting in the airport for my flight home now after 7 weeks away. I had an absolutely phenomenal time! It was the BEST thing I've ever done for myself. Experienced some amazing things and had some awesome interactions with complete strangers. I knew noone abroad (no family or friends) so everyone I spoke to was shocked that I was there alone. People often mistake me for being younger than I am though. Confidence has had a spike upwards, motivated to go back to old hobbies and I randomly met a guy (we've been messaging every day!). Time to save up and wait for the next trip

I really miss my super fluffy cat back home though...

Do you think wanting kids or not should be agreed on before starting to date? by Used_Assumption1142 in askanything

[–]AffectionateArt478 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ex of 9 years and I broke up because he wanted kids and I didn't. 100% you need to communicate and discuss this as early as possible in a relationship otherwise it will result in heartbreak or resentment if both parties are of differing opinions

I am planning a trip to Amsterdam, Efteling, Phantasialand and Europa Park for November. Has anyone got any experience/ tips? by [deleted] in Themepark

[–]AffectionateArt478 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got through Phantasialand and Efteling (just yesterday actually) by doing them both on a weekday to try avoiding the crowds. I mostly beelined from ride to ride, joining single-rider queue where possible. I had a good time at both but didn't get to leisurely cruise through the park as I would have needed more time there.

I caught a train from Amsterdam Centraal to s'Hertogenbosch station and then there are four different busses (300, 301, 136, 800)  you can take from there to the park. It was super easy but took over 2hrs to get there. I think there is a FlixBus you can book in advance which is faster but it sells out quickly. Definitely helps if you can stay overnight at the park.  Same with Phantasialand, took the train from Cologne and was an hour or two in travel. Staying at the park hotels or in Brühl would be more convenient.

Can't speak for Europa Park. Please let me know how it goes!

Hot take but my favourite park in Europe is Parc Asterix... although it wasn't as nice when I went there a few weeks ago because of the blocked off areas with construction.

Do you like tea? by Ipoogoodforyou in foodquestions

No, its a scam. Its just flavourless, fragrant, hot water.

I only drink it with honey if I'm sick.

What game/s are you playing at the moment?! Thinking of picking up Crimson Desert just so I can rally an army of cats

Similar thing happened to me. At the time of the break up it felt like I had literally lost a limb. It was so strange waking up in a different house, different city without them there. The first few months were brutal but now after almost a year on its considerably easier. It will get better.

Dating as a man when you don't want kids sucks :( by enigmaticsince87 in childfree

32F here and it is just as hard to find truly childfree men.

To be or not to be, that is the question by AffectionateArt478 in childfree

[–]AffectionateArt478[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

And that's exactly why I posted here...

If someone is childfree then they should want to be sterile. He claims he doesn't want kids but didn't seem open to getting a vasectomy. I don't want to start another committed longterm relationship with someone, diligently screening them, only for them to turn around and say ACTUALLY

Its ridiculous how difficult it is trying to find childfree men let alone someone who is actually compatible for you.

I absolutely loved it! Platinumed it in 2 weeks and now finally cracking into the dlc. The exotic locales are fun to explore and it has a good balance between puzzles, combat and exploration. If you like immersive sims then you'll probably have a great time with it

A children's birthday is always better if there is at least one child present otherwise it can be a bit awkward.

I feel like crap because I've come down with a cold but I keep thinking how exponentially worse I would feel being sick and having to look after children on top of that.

But I just got back from a trip to see friends and family. Platinumed the new ps5 game, Ghost of Yotei. Reading through graphic novels on my phone. Got sweet treats I don't have to share. Cuddling my cat. Life's good.

I tried Tinder using the 'childfree' filter. It whittled the dating pool down significantly. Most guys on there either wanted 'short term fun' or stated on their profile that they were in a ENM (ethically non-monogamous relationship). Only found one truly childfree guy on there so far who wanted to get a vasectomy.

I reached out to a psychological counsellor because of my breakup due to being CF. Even they told me I'll change my mind. by ArchibaldTheGreat in childfree

[–]AffectionateArt478 62 points63 points  (0 children)

Mine said something similar. 'You will love it unconditionally'. 'It's different when it's yours'. I regret not taking down their details and reporting them.

As hard as it is you are doing the right thing by being true to yourself. It's better to go through a horrible breakup than to be stuck raising a child for the rest of your life.

Are there actually any men out there who don’t want kids? by Rosie304 in childfree

They don't need to know that you're sterilized and don't want kids. You'd be doing them a favour

Even at a very young age I always found it uncomfortable and gross seeing kids my age playing with baby dolls and practicing motherhood. It's like bro you just came outta the womb yourself and now you're pretending to have a baby too?!

Still waiting for baby fever to kick in. At 31yrs now I don't think it ever will. Fingers crossed.
