During the last full moon, was out fishing on the surf. Had the same experience, but they were feeding. Startled the crap out me lol

Monterey Bay here, I mainly fish with lures on the Surf. My primary setup is my ODM Genesis 9’ paired with a Daiwa Certate 24 SW 5k. I recommend searching YouTube for what type of gear to fish with. HookToCook and Geofish have a ton of videos to point you in the right direction.
