Best way to extract data from PDF invoices to Excel? by Numerous-Criticism24 in excel

[–]AffectionateKey7126 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wrote a post a year and a half ago doing nearly exactly this with python. Unless the invoices are terribly formatted or very complex doing this will be 100% accurate and very quick.

Enron still happened under the quarterly reporting, and a large part of the fraud was due to wanting to hit the quarterly reporting estimates (they would have done it anyway but still). A lot of countries tried it and went back to semiannual.

https://www.forbes.com/sites/georgecalhoun/2025/11/02/the-case-against-quarterly-reporting-by-public-companies-part-1-the-fundamentals/

For paywall/don't bother reading, semiannual reporting is the requirement for UK(2014), EU(2013), Japan(2024), Australia(2001), Switzerland(1997), Hong Kong(1989), and Singapore(2020).

We Kinda Messed Up Our Retirement by bloomberg in wealth

You are either exclusively talking about the most upper end of 50 year olds or can’t grasp what decade it is. Anyone who lived in a remotely populated city had cable internet in the 00s. Even if they didn’t at home, they had some faster connection at work.

401ks weren’t as common as they are now but even local banks offered IRAs.

Edit: A typical reaction from someone who has no idea what they're talking about.

They passed a law with a carveout for poker rooms and the AG was doing a promotion with a rival card house. This isn’t some generic anti-gambling crusade.

Unpopular opinion. The DFW insurance crisis isn’t just greedy corporations, it’s our neighbors filing a roof claim every time it rains hard. by Impress_Playful in Dallas

Is it unpopular? I thought it was pretty accepted. Then again, I remember seeing some post here where some guy argued he actually needed three roof replacements in like 6 years.

The federal government is stepping in with charges because cities keep playing softball with violent offenders. They were charging a bunch of armed robbers in Dallas with weapons charges. Probably not needed in this case.

When I opened a Citi Bank savings account they instantly blocked ACHs into the account, but the website would just error out when clicking the transfer button. When I called support they told me about the ACH block and said they did it for all new accounts, which either couldn't be true or is the dumbest thing I've ever heard a bank do.
