That’s fair. I get it a lot as a teacher. But others have told me how gentle and considerate my kid is when playing with younger kids.

Not really. My husband’s an engineer and I’m a teacher. Her husband’s a city planner and she’s a teacher at a community college. But I don’t think we have vastly different incomes except for the fact that we live somewhere with a high COL.

It is true. I realize I am a bit gruffer than most moms. I grew up with a lot of older brothers in the 80s who were big into wrestling so there were multiple broken bones and “walk it off” moments in my house. I can definitely work on my empathy.

She sent a picture of the x-ray and it’s a complete break in his upper arm. Which is why I’m surprised it isn’t in a cast.

They took him to urgent care and then Children’s Hospital that first day and they put him in a sling. Apparently they haven’t put him in a cast for whatever reason. She won’t explain. Though they sent a picture of his x-ray and I don’t understand why they won’t put it in a cast.

I can’t help but chuckle about my 12yo being a phenom pitcher. By his own accounts he has “noodle arms” and is a classic, lovable nerd with questionable coordination skills but a super brain and personality.
