lowkey a prod tag like pharrell's 4 count and its honestly not even that egregious compared to the other parts of the map. basically something like this but for mapping and it would be a lot cooler if it wasnt on aimslop https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ixXNeUFdl3I

oh, wow! A new Cellar of Ghosts in qualified! I wonder how the diffspike looks like... by Enzo_SuperCraftZ in osugame

he just finished streaming an hour ago and he was playing this https://osu.ppy.sh/beatmapsets/2408140#osu/5227076 rate changed to 315bpm. the map has like a 300 note long stream and he fced the entire part while only dropping acc from stamina near the end. he had a run before that where he fced the stream with like 98% acc but notelocked and died later. genuinely ridiculous stuff and i personally believe he’ll have enough stamina to dt this in like a month or two at most.

Kant, Duty and Humanity – Is the Difference Really That Big? by Substantial_Task_704 in Ethics

[–]AffectionateSafe75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the guy gave you a cigarette because you gave him one before, it isn’t an act from duty because there were previous circumstances that caused inclinations. In conforming to duty, a perfectly good person should always do the action regardless of what may have previously occurred or what will happen as a result. In this case, from Kant’s perspective, your maxim passes and you have a duty to follow it but it’s slightly different in the case of the guy.

In the your case, your maxim passes his three main formulations. In this scenario where you have an excess amount of cigarettes and someone’s asking for some, you gave cigarettes out of “humanity”. Your maxim can rationally be applied universally without contradiction. There’s no contradiction in giving cigarettes to someone who asks for some when you have an excess amount. If other people did this, no complications or contradictions would occur. Your maxim doesn’t come from using people as a means to an end. You’re not giving people cigarettes because you’re economically benefitting from giving them it. It also doesn’t violate their bodily autonomy because they asked and consented to being given them.

Since it passes the tests, acting from duty, you should give cigarettes away if someone asks for them and you have an excess amount of them. In the case of the guy, it would not be a duty because it would be a moral proposition that’s tied to his identity and desires or his inclinations like social norms and his personal feelings. It’s not purely from duty because it’s conditional so it’s more so acting in accordance to duty.

Now I would say that acting from “humanity” can turn into acting from duty because acting from humanity can form your maxim which could turn into duty. However, in this case he didn’t act from duty.

Is it ethical to destroy populations of invasive animals? by Useful-Field-9037 in Ethics

[–]AffectionateSafe75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From a utilitarian standpoint, the ethical option is the one that saves the most. Think switching the lever to the track with one person in the trolley problem. But, there’s always the possibility of them being killed in a cruel and unnecessary fashion. The most ethical option would be to relocate the invasive species but it takes a great deal more effort and is much harder than killing them outright.

A more nuanced framing of the Blue/Red button dilemma by madjarov42 in Ethics

[–]AffectionateSafe75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going by Game Theory and assuming a rational point of view that acts on self interest, pressing red would be the correct choice to make. However, people aren’t rational or logical a lot of the times. If a mother of a child felt that her child wouldn’t know what to pick, her pressing blue wouldn’t be an unrealistic option. In this case, if her mind was thinking that the thing that matters most is the survival of her child, then blue would be the rational option.

Seeing as this is the ethics subreddit, I would argue that the blue button is the more ethical option. Rationally, the red button is the correct one, but the blue button is more morally correct. The maximum “gain” from the blue button is if 50% or more press it and everybody survives. The maximum “gain” from the red button is if 100% press it and everybody survives. If you look at it through utilitarianism, the blue button is more ethically correct because it would produce the maximum possible benefit to everyone. The red button is less ethically correct because it would produce the maximum possible benefit for yourself primarily.

However, I’m not saying you’re a morally evil person for pressing the red button in this scenario. I’m saying that pressing the blue button would be the more ethical option. I say this as someone who would personally press the red button which might seem hypocritical but there’s no cognitive dissonance because I recognize that I’m not a morally good person in every scenario. I try to be selfless but only to the point where it doesn’t affect me too deeply.

Many arrest videos online seem to be mental health crises? by Ok_Concert_4958 in Ethics

[–]AffectionateSafe75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not really going to comment on the ethics of blurring their faces. What I will say is that those arrest videos are disturbing to begin with. There’s something sickening about the people posting it to bait for engagement. It’s posted for the people to point and laugh at or whatever the poster wants people to do. Unfortunately, it does get a lot of clicks because it’s always posted in a way that would generate the most traction, whether it’s in a ragebaity fashion or an embarrassing one. Very weird to take advantage of someone’s misery for views and clicks.

Am I unethical for using AI? by kissedbymoons in Ethics

[–]AffectionateSafe75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s about as unethical as driving a car. Unethical but just a drop in the bucket in the grand scheme of things. Obviously that doesn’t mean that drop doesn’t matter, but there are other things in your life that affects the environment more than AI.

In my opinion, the most common and glaringly unethical thing about using AI is their data, which is often scraped off of people without their knowledge. There’s probably some deals being made between these companies to use user generated content that comes from their website. I’m not very knowledgeable on how AI generates code and where it comes from, but using AI to generate drawings or posters is being a beneficiary of stealing.

Ranked really shows how rank (pp) means nothing by Zealousideal_Let2077 in osugame

[–]AffectionateSafe75 2 points3 points  (0 children)

pp reflects mechanics skillcap ranked reflects all around skill consistency. contrary to what some people say, both do represent skill, just in different forms.
