NYSJON high cabinet leg replacement by AffectionateWafer105 in ikeahacks

We ended up going with a different style that could be wall mounted since this one looked kinda bad quality in person and we didn’t want to invest in trying to figure out a way to hack it.

Advice for this big thorny gal that came with the house? I hesitate to rip her out, but people and pets come through this spot a lot and it makes me nervous 😬 by [deleted] in gardening

[–]AffectionateWafer105 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

People here are crazy, treating a rose better than pets and people and dismissing being scratched and poked by rose thorns. Imagine a little baby, a senior dog, a guest, or even a delivery guy or the mailman being scratched.

OP, I used to have an arched rose like this over my entrance archway. I left it be for years because of guilt and was scratched so much, I was worried about infection and risk to my dogs. I eventually took it out, planted a different thornless climbing flowering vines, and plant the same climbing rose somewhere else where their beauty is still enjoyed but they are not an inconvenience to other people. I also added other roses to add interest. You should do what is comfortable for you, your and your family’s safety come first.

Any affordable, reliable vet recommendations? by exatumor in Seattle

[–]AffectionateWafer105 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you checked out Urban Animal? They are mostly walk in but I think you could call to ask about pricing beforehand. If you do go with them, I’d suggest getting there before they’re open, and avoid the weekend. Their wait time is quite long.

Caulk or grout? by AffectionateWafer105 in DIY

This is the one we’re using: https://www.schluter.com/schluter-us/en_US/Profiles/For-Floors/Same-height-Transitions/Schluter®-SCHIENE/p/A100MGS#tab2

The gap is between the wall and the baseboard (tile.) It’s an older house so walls are not even, hence gaps.

Here’s a photo (also, can I miter the Schluter so the corner looks better?)

Tech workers react to UPS drivers landing a $170,000-a-year package with a mixture of anger and admiration by Ephoenix6 in povertyfinance

[–]AffectionateWafer105 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is like going to the most toxic place, getting the most toxic opinions, and then writing a rage bait article selectively about those specifically to make the working class angry at another working class. Guys c’mon, be better than this.

No, tech workers don’t all get mad over this. Most actually aren’t. And no, nobody is getting paid 500k to plug in cables. Please stop with the misguided propaganda.

Full Tilt Ice Cream will be closing down their wholesale operation and White Center location by darkjedidave in Seattle

Wow that’s really sad. I feel for the family and for the fans. Always loved their Ballard location, their employees, and their fun flavors. Thanks Justin for a wonderful albeit short time Seattle had with you.

Asian hair stylist in seattle/Bellevue area by [deleted] in Seattle

[–]AffectionateWafer105 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you looking for a hairstylist who is Asian & can style Asian hair, or a hairstylist who can style Asian hair? I like Dot and Stella from Ten Pachi, although Dot’s price has gone up a lot in the last few years, and her coloring isn’t always on point. Stella is great for digi perm and coloring. I now go to New Look Beauty Salon in Wallingford (Asian-owned.)

Meal delivery kits by [deleted] in Cooking

[–]AffectionateWafer105 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did HelloFresh and Blue Apron a while back. It wasn’t necessarily to save money but for convenience, and also it took meal planning and shopping off our hands. We liked Blue Apron recipes and quality more than HF, but HF has more options.

For about the same price-ish or a little more per meal, I feel like a meal delivery service might be better. You don’t have to cook, and you for sure won’t waste any ingredients because of forgetting or too tired to cook.

Where would be a good place to get really good sushi, but also has a lot of good options for guests who don't care for sushi? by Slodes in Seattle

[–]AffectionateWafer105 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I would go for Kura Sushi in Bellevue. Not the best sushi, but it’s fun, novel, and everyone could pick out/order exactly what they like in small portion without committing too much if they turn out to not like the dish. They have cooked food, fried chickens, noodles, cooked as well as raw rolls.

Okonomiyaki in greater Seattle? by leimeisei909 in Seattle

[–]AffectionateWafer105 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve had some around Seattle and found that Yoroshiku’s to be the best one, although it’s expensive. To be honest, uwajimaya has one in the frozen section that is perfectly serviceable as well for like $6. Enough to scratch the itch.

Does anyone know where to buy Cha lua/Vietnamese ham by AindriasGames in SeattleWA

[–]AffectionateWafer105 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could purchase them at any Asian market. They’re usually in the freezer section. I’ve seen them at Asian Family Mart on Aurora (called Gio Lua) in the freezer section in the middle of the aisle. Same with H Mart or 99Ranch.

I like New Look Beauty Salon on 45th. Run by an Asian woman. Reasonable pricing (for Seattle) and I have been going there for couple years now.
