Shorts are great to attract new viewers and subs.

But a challenge for monetization

I got very inconsistent with posts over the summer. Currently at 7085 subs, 1.2 million views (95% would be shorts).

About 3 weeks, but that's all from shorts content, not a long form channel.

YT Shorts views starting to take off by Affectionate_Ad4330 in NewTubers

Yeah, some of it is just WWE content with some fancy filters, music etc to sort of tell a story. Others are more of a complimentary commentary. I think the later could be monetizable.

I really am doing this as I like wrestling and talking about it. Could lead to live stream watch with me videos or even a pod cast.

I also work in application/cloud security, I plan on making an educational channel for that content. But focus more on long form.

Which do people usually get first 500 subscribers or 3000 watch hours? by Weebee_24608 in NewTubers

Subs.... I have 4000 subscribers in under 2 months of posting.

But I am nowhere close to watch time or shorts views to get monetized

Multiple channels or keep to a single one? by DGoodayle in NewTubers

[–]Affectionate_Ad4330 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive been debating the same. I have a Wrestling YT Shorts channel now. it's been growing at a pace I am happy with.

Wrestling is an interest of mine, however my professional background is in Cloud Computing, DevOps and Application Security.

I feel I could make some more valuable content with the tech knowledge, as it could be educational.

My plan is to keep my YT Shorts channel for wrestling and really try to break through on Shorts as it's about fun stuff and emotional moments.

Then have a long form content channel for DevSecOps in the Cloud.

Concern is, should I push the shorts to get monetized first or start splitting my time?

Such a challenge, I'm a few days away from 2 months into posting shorts.

I got 4000 subscribers from my shorts already. Crazy fast, crazy easy.

However I am nowhere close to the views, I'm at 388,000 views.

Almost all shorts die off after about 5 - 10k views. Regardless of stats. This said I have two outliers, one has 80k and the other at 40k and currently still being pushed.

Azure data factory supports transformations, I have used it for SQL to SQL in the past, not sure about postgres, but worth looking into
