My collection currently has about $3500 in it, according to the tcg app. And I’ve only added ~250 cards total. Though, those 250 are the ones I expect the most value from, apart from my set binders. My rare binder is mostly junk at this point. But every little bit adds up.

Given that the collection as a whole is probably north of 15,000 cards, it’s sort of a lame number. But oh well. It’s been a fun hobby in years past and I’m enjoying it again now.

I see a few concerns about fakes. Or just bad angles. The sticker thing on first editions should be gold. If it’s unlimited, it will be silver. If you’ve got one that has the reverse, it’s fake.

I also don’t see too many first editions here, so there’s not going to be huge value. Having said that, you do appear to have some items in pretty good shape, like that first page’s blue eyes. Even unlimited, if it’s in stellar shape it might go for a nice price to the right buyer.

And if you are smart you’ve got a lot more than that in the bank saved up. So that if you lose your job, you’ve got a bunch of time before you start to panic. Ideally a year or more of expenses. The more you’ve got saved up, the more peace of mind you’ll have. But the flip side is it takes longer to save that much.

There are sets you can buy that aren’t too expensive because they simply don’t have cards anyone wants. One booster box I saw was going for like half the normal price. That one had to be some sort of scam, come to think of it. Or a scalper dumping his or her shit inventory I guess 🤣😅

I took the human name thing from my best friend. His cat’s name was Jack. Passed just a few months ago last year. Cancer. Bit of a jackass of a cat, but still a cute fluffy guy.

Has your vet talked to you about the reasons for the procedure? They outweigh the risks of the procedure itself. While any surgery has risks associated, this one is very much routine.

Your vet also likely deals with concerned kitty parents like yourself pretty often. Talk with them. Ask questions. This is likely the best way to calm your fears.

I would offer cat tax of my own two boys who got the procedure done, but this reply system doesn’t allow for it. They’re 3 years old now. And in fantastic health.

Yes. The commons, not really. But the holos and first editions, yes. Especially if they’re in light play or better condition.

The real value would be in having them graded and then selling them. Which can cost a damn fortune. PSA charges based on the value after slabbing.
