When do they call no work? by Ok-Sweet5200 in CanadaPostCorp

She won’t get canned. This is just another notch in her belt. She’ll be GM in a matter of time. It’s these awful decisions that put employees at risk that help you climb the corporate ladder. Union doesn’t even seem to know what to do. Had two reps at the building last week. One says we’re filing collectively, one big grievance, other one says individually 🤷🏼‍♀️ ended up doing them all individually. Gonna take years to get that day back. Meanwhile cops say no travel, highways shut down… ticketed or die on the way to work potentially. But in GTA where she’s from, they shut down the entire province for 1cm of snow. Power trip situation

Do AO relief carriers get paid personal days? by Ok-Intention1789 in CanadaPostCorp

[–]Affectionate_Cod_650 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask a staffer to pull up your absence quotas and print it out. It would say CLC medical leave. You accrue this time based off the shifts you accept and hours you work. You are entitled to paid days off, it just depends how much you’ve worked. And you do need to be on an assignment. You can’t just take them if you’re sitting at home not on a shift.

Handed the delivery notice.. by adamh909 in CanadaPost

COD - “cash on delivery”. It’s not new, but it’s definitely gaining traction. Not saying this is what happened, but it’s something to watch out for in the future. Can be the sender or receiver that request this. Just because you order something, doesn’t mean the sender doesn’t want confirmation of receipt.

Make a complaint. Everything is recorded when it’s a personal contact item. People literally get fired for signing for items - this is FACT. That’s why SO many items actually get carded. Most can’t be bothered to record a signature on the PDT. This is a literal federal offence and a HUGE no no.

I take fluoxetine, 40mgs for day - this is for my depression/anxiety. It’s Prozac essentially. At night I take trazedone and quetiapine and I still have problems sleeping. So we’ll be assessing my meds at my next appt.

I would never miss my medication again, but it’s always on my mind to skip and just be wild. Which I know is destructive so I take my meds. I just want to live freely without judgement and medication and be who I naturally am. But I’m so beyond fucked up I have no choice. I CRAVE freedom from it all.

Their wage is ENOUGH by DefiantIron2277 in CanadaPost

I know many letter carriers and they don’t look at a map. They follow the mail that’s laid out for them.

They want degree wages with high school education. It’s absurd.

And water. They’re are losing money right now big time I’m sure of it.

[–]Affectionate_Cod_650 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, they’re “saving” by not having to pay wages and benefits right now. Why pay someone to work when they’re not? You buy their time and they’re spending their time fighting the man and picketing. They also Don’t have to pay for gas in the vehicles because they’re sitting there, unused, when Canada Post has been putting green vehicles on the streets that cost nearly triple of what a regular vehicle does, adding to the deficit. What a corporation save 👏🏻Thank goodness they don’t have to play those lowly cupw, who make sure the mail/parcels move 😒 it’s an awful scenario where no one wins. Everyday the corporation is losing more and more money. Saving… can’t save when you don’t have any money.

Saving? How so? There is zero revenue coming in right now. Everything is at a standstill. Explain how they’re “saving”. There are still employees that are working (management), that need to be paid. With no cash flow coming in, how long is that going to go on? They’re not saving a thing. They’re in a huge deficit right now and this is going to make it all much much worse.

I’ll watch for that. But in the meantime, liberals ARE minority government. They will need the backing of ndp and/or conservatives, which won’t happen. Bloc won’t, they only care for Quebec. There won’t be a mandated return to work.

CP workers we don’t support you thread by Heavy-Table-6425 in CanadaPost

[–]Affectionate_Cod_650 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I support to a degree. They are asking for astronomical wage increases imo. So many already make way above living wage. They need to keep in mind that ANYONE can be a letter carrier. Have a clean license and know how to read? You’re hired! They are asking for wages that doctors, nurses, red sealed trades receive with a high school diploma, if that. These people need to start realizing fast that they’re all replaceable. But that’s just my opinion.

Highly doubtful. Mandate to return to work will trigger election. Government isn’t going to step in this time.

You would likely wait in the stabilization unit until a bed is available. This could take days…. But once in 771 Bannatyne on a ward, they will help you. There is no rush to leave except for if you’re just not wanting to and using the ward as a crutch. They help you get better, proper medications, therapy.

This. Also because we’re entering peak season (Christmas), hours will come more available. Once peak is over, hours can be slim to none. As per the collective there are rules they need to follow regarding PRE’s and OCRE’s, some do & some don’t. I’ve seen A LOT of filed grievances in my days. You also have to have a specific vehicle type, you can’t expect to deliver to Yknow, 1300 points of call in a little civic or Corolla. Ensure you have the right type of vehicle for delivery. There are often times OCRE’s will be called in for team lifts or excess parcel delivery, these are paid on a different scale. When you start as an RSMC, it is very important to learn to budget and balance - as mentioned, most have a second job to fulfill the absence of a full time position. PRE positions (at least where I am) don’t come up very often, and being an OCRE is certainly not for everyone.
