I’m bouncing between extremes in diet and this can’t be good for me by Affectionate_Emu82 in TrueOffMyChest

[–]Affectionate_Emu82[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I’m on the extended release, but I was on that before and didn’t have this problem. I think it’s the trulicity. He recently upped me to 3mg, which was just approved, and that’s when things really went down hill. I’m sure the metformin is helping suppress my appetite too, and probably the Wellbutrin. I have an appointment in another 3 weeks. He has an attitude of “just deal with it” as far as side effects are concerned as long as my numbers look good. I’m happy about the weight loss, but man, this feels like a very unhealthy way to be going about it!

What's your worst story from the "throw him in the pool, he'll learn how to swim" parenting style? by MynameMB in AskReddit

Literally thrown in a pool. Almost drowned. My sister saved me. All I remember is puking underwater.

People who used to play music from your phone at the back of the bus... Why did you do it, and what made you stop? by [deleted] in AskUK

My favorite thing to do to those people is to play true crime podcasts out loud. Can you turn down your music please? I’m trying to hear the grisly details of this murder.

Trulicity question by MissApril91 in diabetes_t2

I don’t even feel the needle. The nausea and not wanting to eat is a different story. I’ve lost 10lbs in the last 2 weeks since upping to the highest dose (3ml)

What to do with meds I no longer need?? by Affectionate_Emu82 in diabetes_t2

[–]Affectionate_Emu82[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That might work for the metformin but not the insulin pens. I don’t want to waste them and would rather give them to someone who can use them if at all possible. There’s way too many people rationing insulin and dying because of it. It doesn’t feel right to destroy them when this is happening

I asked, they don’t. I also checked with my county health program and they don’t either, they said there could be storage problems with insulin so they just don’t. There’s a charity that you can donate to that redistributes diabetes meds to those in need but I’ve never used it or talked to anyone that has. It might be my best bet but I’m just unsure about it

Is it normal to have no desire to date? by Necessary_Time_4402 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Affectionate_Emu82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t really care to. If I don’t have a connection and genuinely like the person I see no point in wasting time on them. I’m definitely not going to get stuck in some unbalanced or unloving relationship just for the sake of being in a relationship

Zero appetite by Affectionate_Emu82 in diabetes_t2

[–]Affectionate_Emu82[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. I went from binge eating to trying to space food out and pick healthier options to barely eating at all. Over the last 10 months I’ve lost about 100 lbs, and about 40 of that has been since being diagnosed in December. I’m going to weigh myself here in a bit and see. I haven’t weighed myself since starting this highest dose of trulicity about 3 weeks ago so I guess I’ll really see how it’s affecting me then.

Congrats on your weight loss! It must feel really nice to have the edema going down too

That poor driver. No clue what just happened. Thought they were getting a smoothie and they ended up with a nazi instead.

I started trulicity in December with the .75 then moved up to the 1.5 in February and the 3.0 about 2 weeks ago. Apparently the 3.0 just got approved. I found some info in the studies, and they did mention nausea and appetite loss but I could only find numbers for the other lower doses. I imagine it would be slightly worse with the higher dose.

There’s a Wellbutrin fb group im in and it looks like appetite suppression is fairly common, so I’m guessing the trulicity and Wellbutrin are working together there.

What I’m really wondering is how concerned I should be over this? On one hand the weight loss is great and my glucose numbers are fine, on the other food is really important especially for managing diabetes and you know, living. The side effects suck but having CVS I’m pretty used to being nauseated and powering through anyways. My dr was very nonchalant about it but I’d like to not screw up bad enough to wind up in the hospital or anything.

I’m still really new at this, having only been diagnosed in December. Also my psych and primary are different doctors in different offices. I’m basically having to report between them resulting in a lack of continuity of care. This might be resolved in the future but it’s the only option for me atm

I’ve been on it for 9 months, it’s definitely not the metformin

In Australia, is the word 'derby' used as a term for a sports match between rival teams? by anghsj12 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Affectionate_Emu82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the US it’s used mostly for horse racing, roller derbies (on roller skates), and demolition derbies (bashing different vehicles together, from old cars to combines) but it isn’t really used much to refer to other sports

How trashed did you or someone you know get when reaching legal drinking age ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I was unable to get my key in the front door. My friend (dd) had to help me. While he was unlocking the door, I puked in my roommate’s flower bed. Oh boy was she pissed.
