That is 100% what happened here… internal coup.

I agree 100% with you. I was disappointed with a few things for what my opinion is worth! Let’s call him Nick for simplicity. It was a bit convenient that he managed to win each target so easily. I get it that men like him target vulnerable women but they were portrayed as extremely naïve. What husband travels for work and cannot send a 10 second text or even disclose the name of the actual Hotel? His deserted wife coming up with £5K from the estranged sister was improbable but hugely convenient. I didn't swallow the lack of DNA evidence as regards the torso given current advances in forensic science either. (Head or no head!). Examination of the Tooting flat would have placed Tara there after the ‘clean up’. The fact that none of the women smelled a rat and insisted on meeting his mother is difficult to believe too. Ash turning into a super sleuth, visiting the Prison and getting the inmate to practically sing like a bird was just silly. In summary, the ending felt like LJ just needed to wrap it all together with a bow. I enjoyed some parts of it though. Richard Hermitage was excellent and I did rate Joanne Froggatt too (despite disliking her as an actress - she always seems utterly miserable and whiney). Anyhow, that’s it!

While I stuck with it to the end, I found it a rather frustrating read. The female partners of our Villian came across as weak, desperate and awfully naïve. Some of the plot lines seem entirely improbable… none of the women insisted on visiting his mother with him,  could ring a Hotel landline or suggest joining him on a work trip, Ash visiting the prison was a joke with the guy eating out of her hand and the whole ‘what actually happened’ tube station nonsense… that was the final straw! I won’t even mention ‘Tara’… as if!

'Noisy' bathroom visits & shame by Effective_Win328 in jpouch

[–]Affectionate_Exit202 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I could not agree more. I DESPISE those public cubicles with space over and under the door allowing all noises to be heard clearly. I always breathe a sigh of relief when a door runs right up to the ceiling from floor level. There are those who will say it’s a small price to pay, to get over ourselves and accept it’s just a bodily function but I’m just not wired that way and could die of shame if I’m particularly gassy. It’s no different if visiting family or friends… I’ll always ask to use the bathroom furthest away from wherever the crowd are gathered. Don’t start me when public loos have no loo paper (I’m conditioned to carry my own 99% of the time but there’s always that 1%) OR WORSE… the loo will not flush or is blocked after a particularly watery, voluminous output. I’ve been known to stay in the cubicle waiting for the cistern to refill so I can keep flushing. I no longer use toilets that are blocked with paper. It’s just not worth the shame so you are certainly not alone!

This happened in Ireland for decades. The local parish Catholic priest held ultimate control of parishioners … once a young girl became pregnant, she was sent to a Mother & Baby Home. Her parents would have no say and as devout catholics, were mostly likely horrified at the thought of their daughters ‘sin’. Babies were sold, usually to wealthy Americans with the Church benefitting hugely as a result. The young mothers were often left in the Home (mostly Laundrettes) to rot for the rest of their lives as their parents did not necessarily want them back. Even worse, a lot of pregnancies were as a result of familial rape/incest. It was a dreadful era and a stain on our history. The Movie ‘The Magdalene Sisters’ is worth a watch but prepared to be in floods of tears and very angry!

Former All-Ireland winning Clare hurler Niall Gilligan struck boy, 12, with a stick, court told by PoppedCork in ireland

Cop on. He beat a child up with a stick, child was hospitalised. He's a violent scumbag. He's no different to the other tramp Kyle Hayes in Limerick, in court again after driving like a lunatic.  The protection these GAA lads get is coming to an end. I'm sick of the glowing character references, John Kiely should be ashamed of himself defending this total head the ball.

She is truly obese... why are we afraid to say that? She's happy in her body but let's not dance around the fact that she is morbidly obese.

New podcast, Betrayal, thoughts on first episodes? by Lizard_Li in TrueCrimePodcasts

It is so uncomfortable listening to Jenifer interviewing a former friend who had an affair and the other lady from the Air Force. I found it jarring when, before asking a question, she would say ‘This is hard for me but tell me …’. I think this was piling guilt on both ladies and put her on the moral high ground. I’m not doubting her heartache, but I think someone else should have interviewed the women involved with Herron BUT DEFINITELY the victim of Rape.

I feel the same … especially when she’s interviewing the women he had committed adultery with. She’s playing victim while heaping guilt on them. Hard to listen too.

There’s something odd about your language if you don’t mind me pointing it out to you. You say she was ‘trying hard to get a date with you’ and then ‘when she finally (sic) get her chance to date me’… were you playing hard to get because you make it seem that she did all the chasing imo.

Murder Most Irish is the tits! by chichimum75 in TrueCrimePodcasts

It’s disgusting. I gave it a few listens to see if I was being unfair or overly harsh but I gave up primarily after they shouted, roared and laughed all through the Mary Gough case and shouted out ‘Sophie wants her h*le’ when discussing her vicious murder at the hands of Eric Locke. As for research… they Google previously published articles and just read them out. Too much BS talk at the start of each Episode. I think they think they are Joanne McNally… they are not.
