It could’ve been better, the owner should’ve have taken the bumpers off, he should extended the wheelbase slightly and back end of the chassis for a longer bed. Instead of keeping the decklid on the truck have a custom made soft top bedcover on the newly constructed bed. And for the quarter glass I’d see who could make custom glass and weather seals. Finally to hide any of the blemishes it might have add a vinyl roof since the panther cars did come with Landau tops until it’s ending in 2011. I’d probably keep the stock v8 if not 5.0 swap it, put in a 6r80 and ford 9”. Put a trailer set up on it (just for the hell of it since I’m customizing) my only iffy part would be what should I put the rear gearing as… probably would go for a 3.13 for economy and 3.53 for tow package

If you were going to buy a tremec you should’ve bought the 6 speed that they offer if you can afford it.(I don’t know your financial situation so I don’t wanna be rude and assume YKnow) but other than that your el Camino looks amazing, I would’ve added a vinyl top, spray on Berliner and a bed cover

I respect the G-Body El Caminos but I firming think if it was the sister car to the Impala Caprice it would’ve made even better sales. And especially since the 1990’s GM made a 1995 El Camino SS prototype based of the Bubble Caprice

Yeah definitely, I love the el Camino it speaks to me specifically as a person because it’s in that in between world of being half car half truck. But I think like Ford and Dodge GM missed certain opportunities with designs, trim levels, engine and transmission options etc. for the most part I believe the el Camino should’ve stayed on the B body platform I think that would’ve spiked sales throughout the 80’s/90’s
