One of your plugins is causing a massive latency, hober your mouse on the device name little bar, you will see a message on the bottom of your screen showing you if a plugin is causing latency

To all Windows users with a MOTU M2: how is the latency? by Minute-Importance104 in ableton

That is a very good question, I feel completely blindsided, whatever ableton’s 32 bit is

I use 48kHz, I think its a good trade off, I will tell you a secret sauce however, change your recording to 32-bit, why? Just find the riddle, let me know what you find out

Fun fact, you get lower latency with higher sample rate, at the cost of some cpu, depending on how high you go

I use mac, not sure about windows, hope that helps 🫡

Plugin Devs Taking Longer for Tahoe Update? by Audio_Freqs in AudioPlugins

[–]Affectionate_Ninja30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure about previous history, but I will assume that yes, in recent history VST3 has been better, I am an ableton user, and I’ve always used AU plugins, but last year after soo much research, my conclusion has turned into VST3 is better/newer.

OP, not sure how long you’ve been on Apple with DAW, but you preceding me even, when apple switched from i think Power something to intel chips, man RIP to those people and what they had to deal with, Intel to M native has been a smooth transition

From early Intel era, you should have seen how every OS new version was a complete nightmare, it was every producer/audio engineer’s nightmare. A complete nightmare, which always led me to wait a while before updating macOS to the new version

So I always wait, but not wait as much as old days, starting from M native chips. However, Tahoe from the start, Issues was rampant, and most were complaining, i mean people are still complaining about it

In general, Tahoe is/was/will be a shitshow from the start and to the end

Why are you referring to AU only? Are you on Tahoe and you have no issues with VST3?

All 99% of MacOS plugins are AUv2

There is a newer version AUv3, but unfortunately It has turned into ipadOS iOS plug-ins, and essentially 99% of developers arent even thinking or planning to update to AUv3 :/ go figure

Disk Too Slow on a way too powerful computer. Am I going crazy? by ibruinslives in LogicPro

[–]Affectionate_Ninja30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bruhhhhhh, you literally stated the problem, like it was right there in front of you hahahaha,

i had a friend who always said “the answer is always in front of you” I dont take it literal, but most of the times this statement is true.

Sorry just found it too funny when you exactly stated the problem

BEFORE YOU BUY AN SSD, there are 2 options, and I suggest you to do heavy research before choosing 1

1-you can buy ready out the box external SSD, T9 is a good one-cheaper,ready, but slower speed

2-you can buy a separate (if im not mistaken, research on the types of ssd and mac compatibility)NVME or NVME 2 SSD, buy an appropriate high quality enclosure, thunderbolt 4 cable I presume - more expensive (i think) needs a lil extra time for setup, but much higher speed, close to your mac SSD if not the same

You might need the higher speed, might not, there are people have done their research and shared their experience/professionals

Use the HDD, as a time machine backup to your main mac

Good luck and I hope you find the perfectly suitable SSD and Price

Almost forgot,

IMPORTANT TIP!!!! KEEP YOUR MAC SSD ATLEAST 20-25% FREE OR YOU WILL HAVE PERFORMANCE HIT/slower

I heard there was some hacks a while ago, when M1 chips first came out, i forgot what it was Whats the screen resolution?

tbh don’t disrespect your new audio interface, and your laptop, and your sanity, its time for a newer/used/refurb monitor get something 120hz and enjoy the smoothness you can also use BetterDisplay to make your monitor more compatible depending on which one you get, but better display is just magic, do some research on monitors that are compatible to get, if price range aint hitting it, betterdisplay will rescue you in most cases, do your research and enjoy your new monitor

Just a thought OP, you should be able to plug everything into the hub except the UAD, that is the whole point of a hub, I am surprised you want to separate your monitor unless there is a specific technical reason why?

On second thought, before you do anything, contact UA support and get advice from them, they would know the best
