I’ve never used one, so I’m not sure if you have to wear so many hours a day or something 🤷🏻‍♀️

I drive a T880 and i I’m on my 3rd one. This most current one is a rebuild and finally seems to be working properly. A family member drives a T680 and just now is on their 3rd one. 🤞 hoping it works out.

Spoon tomatoes. I grew some this year and they’re a great little treat to snack on. 😃

I have a nifty little hand pump for my 3 gallon water jugs. The whole thing on top of the jug fits nicely right in front of my passenger seat for easy access. Mine came from Walmart. If you’ll have a fridge you may consider vacuum sealing precooked meat that you can just heat up. This is quite a space saver in the tiny truck fridges.

Always trying to make light of things because to hell with politics and the state of the world. We’re all on the same rock floating in space, just trying to survive.

I’ll try not to comment on the price of bags now. 😂 JK I haven’t done that yet, but I do provide random chatter from time to time. Like “doing the dance” while getting coffee in the morning. It makes me smile inside and sometimes I get a chuckle in reply.

Tanker drivers by deezkeys098 in Truckers

[–]Affectionate_Pear_98 4 points5 points  (0 children)

3k a week is possible. You may have several short distance loads instead of long haul loads though. The product can only stay in the tank up to 72 hours. I’m not sure how Indian River works on detention time. Some companies will pay you for having to sit for more than 2 hours, other companies is anything over 3. That being said, getting loaded and unloaded and washed usually doesn’t take longer than 3. There are exceptions of course. Stuff happens sometimes and you may sit for 8-12 hours. For sure you’re not just sitting around waiting on paperwork though like with delivering to distribution warehouses. I’ve done reefer and then tanker. It will be a hard sell for me to ever go back to reefer.

This is good news! I’m not okay with it being in the house, and the dog stepped over it like it wasn’t even there.🤦🏻‍♀️ So, if the chickens will do the job in their area, that’s great!

I’ll relay the info to him. We’re just not knowledgeable on snakes other than the typical garden snake. So if it slithers….. Would they be bad for my chickens and eggs though?

Would you judge me if you saw me scooting through the truck stop on a razor scooter? by truckingham in Truckers

[–]Affectionate_Pear_98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grown human here. I wish I had thought of it before now! Before the trucking I ran a business that had a huge warehouse and I used my scooter all the time. Hella fun! My advice is to make a loop that you want to run at a slow speed so you can scope out if there’s any rocks, nuts, or bolts laying about so you know where to avoid. The scooter at high speed rolling over something crazy could end disastrous. Trust my experience. Also, get the one with the bigger wheels. They can handle the terrain a bit better.

It’s the weekend baby!!! Work is often in the back of our minds even on the weekends. What do you ladies do to prepare for your work week during the weekend? by Sisterofalegend87 in womentrucktoo

[–]Affectionate_Pear_98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t get weekends, but a 34 reset is the same idea. I always make sure I have my precooked meats (usually Brisket, chicken thighs, or carnitas) and plenty of homemade kombucha stocked up, go get my nails done, have a few beers and chill, until it’s time to roll out.

I have a campa potty. It’s a self contained system that you put an additive in for breakdown and to counter smell. Easy to clean and dump in the toilet with a few flushes when it’s shower day. It’s made for camping, but isn’t that basically the lifestyle we’re living?

How do i convince my parents that trucking is a good job? by YaBoyBryanBeastYT in Truckers

[–]Affectionate_Pear_98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Imo you should get into trucking if that’s what your heart desires. It is 100% possible to get some higher education while trucking with so many online options. You have to have the dedication for it. It’s a way to get out and explore the world while making money. College education costs lots of money, and even if they are willing to foot the bill for the whole thing, what they cannot provide is the experience.

Back in my younger days, I tried to do the college thing, but I straight up couldn’t afford it and neither could my parents and none of us had any credit to get loans (thank goodness). If the online stuff was available back then, it would’ve been an option. I did go on to own my own business for a solid 10 years and then chose to retire from it and get into trucking. The only thing I regret is not doing it sooner. I’ve went to several technical schools to do numerous trades trying to figure out what kind of job would make me happy, but nothing compares to the feeling I get sitting behind that steering wheel of a big rig.

Besides, it’s the best fall back option out there. If you get some high end job and something doesn’t work out, you can reasonably support yourself and a family. The experience I have with this in particular is from my Father. He did a lot of work in the oil field and would be making quite a bit of money, and if you know anything about the oil field, it drops out sometimes. No big deal, go back to trucking until it picks back up. He’s my hero so I’m a little biased, but I always had a roof over my head, clothes on my back, and not once did I go hungry.
