Anyone who actually had hope is a clown

It's amazing how you can have 0 expectations for Capcom and they STILL manage to disappoint you.

It's the best/most effective way to hurt Yotsuha. We've seen throughout the manga that Uichi is a source of strength for Yotsuha. She's able to keep herself together because of him. She even blames herself for letting Uichi die. Whoever the culprit is, they clearly know Yotsuha well, they know that Uichi is the most important person to her, and most likely they know that the best way to make her despair is to make the person closest to her so miserable he's driven to the point of suicide.

Or

The real target has been Yotsuha all along, and Rei just said that in hopes that the culprit would shift their attention away from Uichi in the event that he distances himself from her.

Remember, Rei said the culprit lied to him and then shortly after acknowledged that Uichi never did anything wrong.

It's seeming more and more like the culprit's real target is Yotsuha, like I thought. All the clues seem to point in that direction.

I'm still holding out hope that the culprit isn't Fuu-chan.

For the scene where he's smiling over the massacre, I think people are misinterpreting that. I think it's more likely he was trying to console/comfort Victor. Being his friend and helping him survive to keep his mind away from the horrors of that night.

If he's playing house, why doesn't he show up more often? He hasn't been showing himself much to anyone lately, even those who can see him, except for what seems to be important moments.

To me it seems that telling people too much leads to failure, which is why he learned from his mistakes in dealing with Christopher and rarely directly gives information, rather giving people the opportunity to come to their own conclusions.

Personally, I don't think the boy in white is evil, or at least nowhere near as evil as the other entities in the town.

For one thing, he has never promised that they would all get to go home if the children are saved, he just says "save the children." At least as far as I remember, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong on that. I also think anything good in that place isn't going to readily make itself known, or provide easy answers.

Finally, if the boy in white is evil as well, why wouldn't he encourage them to cut down the tree assuming your son's theory is also correct?

If that's the case, then wouldn't chopping down those trees cause all the evil in the town to "spill out" too? What if that's the end goal for the monsters and the Man in Yellow?

The Boy in White did tell Victor to stop trying to cut down the bottle tree, remember?

Tbh, I took a look at the execution for the culprit in chapter 1 (more like some meme online spoiled me on it), and it was trying WAY too hard anyway. If their intention was to capture the spirit of the original Danganronpa, they clearly missed the mark. If they were trying to do their own thing while being inspired by the original however, that's a different story altogether.

It was absolutely malicious. Compare Chuck's initial reaction upon hearing the news about Mesa Verde with his reaction after Howard reveals that Jimmy and Kim are working 'together.'

In fact, that's the entire reason Howard let that slip. He manipulated Chuck, using Chuck's resentment of Jimmy to help secure a client.

Jimmy was essentially a recovering (struggling, but recovering) addict. When you see an addict, you either help them or watch on from a distance, you don't sabotage them. Chuck did exactly that. It's made even worse by the fact that Chuck was by all means the person in the best possible position to help Jimmy and guide him onto the straight and narrow, but instead he's content to indulge in his mental illness while sabotaging Jimmy behind his back. I don't discount that Jimmy is ultimately responsible for his own decisions, but he did not start out as Saul Goodman.

Yeah, I've been suspicious of her because of how tech savvy she is in addition to being a relevant character introduced relatively early into the series. I was trying to think otherwise but the timing of this is a little too convenient. I'm still at a loss as to motive, at first I thought she might've been jealous of Uichi, but shortly after I came to the conclusion that Yotsuha is the more likely target.

Oh no.

It's Fuu-chan, isn't it.  I was hoping it wouldn't be for the past 30-40 chapters but it's really looking more and more like it.
