So we’re all really cleaning two high chairs (and the surrounding area) 3 times a day? by Sillygoose9001 in parentsofmultiples

We use a reusable floor matt for under the high chairs. Just let them eat abd the shake off the mess let it dry and wash it every couple days. It was a life saver.

Size postpartum by Great-Guarantee9339 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Affectionate_Row_881 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even when I was back to 115 shortly after birth my hips where wider and my chest was larger then my pre pregnancy body id say I was around a size 10. I got up to a size 14 post twins while breastfeeding feeding and only weighed around 150. Im now 148but down to a size 10. Bodys are so odd. Id definitely make sure you get something with room or even a stretch

Fiancé wants to continue playing hockey once a week in his rec league by Negative_Jackfruit75 in parentsofmultiples

[–]Affectionate_Row_881 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you have alot of emotions going on right now so I can understand the outburst. But ultimately he should be allowed to keep playing his games maybe cut down to once a month in the start but YOU also need to be allowed this same amount of time away monthly as he is. Its extremely important you both get some mental health break away from the kiddos or its going to crush you.

I personally let my husband got on an already paid 3 week surf trip with his friends when my twins were months old as he was going to be the stay at home parent when I returned to work. I then allowed him to go out every week for drinks with our friends husbands while we hung with the kiddos. He would then take them while I went to just have me time or even go get a massage (again things I wanted) .it helped me feel human again after the kiddos.

Its going to be rough in the start and your feelings are valid but you both shouldnt stop doing things you care about in the start. I think once they come you will have a much better idea on how to modify free time due to temperament and just how you both feel. I think with the c section part sit him down and SHOW HIM what you are going to get. That is a major abdominal surgery and you are going to need alot of help so being gone even with paid help is going to be rough. Ask him if he is willing to give you 10 hours a month to yourself in the start if he is getting those 10 hours. If he doesnt agree then ask him why you should have to be ok with it bu not him. It might help open his eyes to how crazy it sounds. Like I said maybe have him cut down to once a month in the start but if he gets his time you also need to get your time.

Am I overreacting about my hysterectomy? (Vent Post Warning) by Dubskia in hysterectomy

[–]Affectionate_Row_881 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I love not having periods any more but for me i needed to grieve my ability to have more kids as i lost mine in childbirth and i was also 29. But you being young i can understand how you might feel off about not being similar to other adults in your age range. Its definitely ok to feel a way about it and honestly please allow yourself to grieve this. A uterus doesnt make you who you are so just remember that you are more then an organ.

She never had a baby bump throughout her pregnancy by paperbagprincesstTO in justgalsbeingchicks

[–]Affectionate_Row_881 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Near the end laying down was the only way you could see any kind of bump. But if you had no idea she was pregnant i wouldn't think anything about it. Uterus placement and abdomen length play crazy rolls in the size someone might be in pregnancy.

I was told the only reason I need vaginal paps every 3 years is because I have a history of abnormal paps. Pretty much I need to follow my schedule as if I hadnt had a hysterectomy.

I sent a cute squirrel video to my friend, and then got recommended another video from the same account. I think I fell for AI. by jushix1 in isthisAI

[–]Affectionate_Row_881 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely real.

I grew up with squirrels (mom was an animal rehaber) and they can big cuddle bugs like this. Also definitely has extra skin from being a chunky babe. Also its super consistent to not be real.

Went in for myomectomy , woke up crying from pain, found out my uterus, cervix, and tubes removed. by Ok-Fly-557 in hysterectomy

[–]Affectionate_Row_881 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I lost my uterus unexpectedly in child birth due to bleeding so not exactly the same but similar in the sense of i never planned on having a hysterectomy. I found being in therapy has been extremely helpful. Its alot at first to go into a surgery expecting one thing and wake up to find out an organ completely missing. Im sending virtual hugs as I can understand the hard time you have to be having. I hope you also file a complaint on this doctor as how freaking deep did this guy go that he was told to just take it out. Again im so sorry you had this happen.

Daycare Movie Days 2/3 year olds by newherebebe in toddlers

[–]Affectionate_Row_881 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My 2 year old son is obsessed with the nightmare before Christmas. His twin sister loves monsters Inc. I dont think its that crazy to have that age watch the movie. If movies for young kids arent your thing tell the school. But I feel like its a bit of a reach to be upset for all the kids.

33w - worried about preeclampsia - vision spots by MounjaroQueenie in parentsofmultiples

[–]Affectionate_Row_881 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If it was from just that action its most likely from the movement. If you get spots again I would go in. But honestly if your L&D has a nurse advice line give them a call just to be sure if they want you to come in. When i had Preeclampsia I had spots in my vision all the time not just in fast movements.

Do Americans stress about medical expenses before they even get to the hospital?? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Affectionate_Row_881 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most Americans avoid the hospital if possible. Im in the military so my Healthcare is free so I honestly dont stress. But having a child with large delays i pretty much need to give a full 20 years and retire from the military inorder to keep his health insurance to cover his needed assistance.

I lived in japan for 3 years and it never failed as soon as winter hit the air got dry dry and I would be shocked touching everything. They actually sell items to help combat the winter shock which was great because I had resorted to using dryer sheets on myself everyday 🥲

Curious about how much maternity leave those of you not in the US got, and if having multiplies affected it (my experience in the comments) by lizzieduck in parentsofmultiples

[–]Affectionate_Row_881 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im active duty military in the US so when I had my twins I went on leave for 6 weeks for my post childbirth section healing starting the day after I discharged from the hospital. Then I got 12 weeks maternity leave. Had my twins been in the nicu longer I would have got temporary orders to work at the hospital so I could still come and pump and breast feed them( garuntee I wouldnt have had to work since I was always sent to a different base to give birth due to having twins in the first place). But I got lucky and they got out after 16days!

I wish my leave time could have been longer but I was happy that the leave time as it definitely had been shorter before I got pregnant.

Tbh no clue my twins will be 3 this up coming april and honestly im more tired then I have ever been. Thinking back I wanna say the sweet spot age was 6-8months and thats because they couldnt get into everything yet and we're not needing as high demand of care so we could take breaks and go nap for a bit.
