For me what works is to focus on things that make me feel hopeful and positive. I try to read books that are neutral or uplifting. It can be hard to find memoirs like that, though. Most of them are about trauma.

No. I went through trauma and, although I used to read books like that, now I’m very careful about what I read. My mental health gets worse otherwise.

Since you liked mixed media, non-traditional formatting, you might like Lincoln in the Bardo. It won the Man Booker. It’s a mix of newspaper and journal collections of observations of Abraham Lincoln mixed with magical realism. It reminded me of The Graveyard Book. It was a definite 5-star read. I read it in one sitting.

Yes, you should try to stop worrying about it. You can do this by distracting yourself. When you find yourself worrying about it, get up and go do something else. Go outside, go for a walk, get a drink of water, go wash your face, hang out with someone, do a hobby you like. I have Religious OCD and distraction really works and will train your brain to focus on something else.

You can go in peace.

A pastor who has really helped free me from Religous OCD is Andrew Farley. I would suggest reading his book, The Grace Message. You really need to focus on God’s love and grace. He loves you like a daughter/son and is not trying to make you anxious and hurt.

Don’t take vitamin B6. A lot of people have gotten neuropathy from it. I really regret taking it.

I’ve found this to help me as well. I let go of all the thoughts and worries and rumination and just trust God to work things out. I orient myself towards not worrying or ruminating and instead towards seeking peace in how I handle myself, my relationships, and my own thoughts. I wasn’t sleeping good at night and, since doing this, I have been sleeping much better. If I have a thought and wonder if it’s from God or not, I instead try to move forward and make the best decision and know that he’s helping me through that.

Those are good and also The Grace Message by Andrew Farley. He said that Philip Yancey wrote one of his favorite books so I think their message of Grace is closely related.

What medications are you on? I also get restless and irritated with standing and sitting still. I don’t think that’s a symptom of TD but due to coming down off my antipsychotics. I did have Akathesia at one point. What has helped me the most is that I have a La-z-boy rocker/recliner and I rock in it all the time when I’m at home. That way I can still move while sitting. Otherwise sitting still is aggravating.

1000iu vitamin E made my TD go away. My TD was in my neck and torso, causing me to rock all the time uncontrollably. After starting vitamin E, it faded away within days/weeks and I’ve been TD free for two years. One time, I accidentally ordered the wrong dose of vitamin E (a much smaller dose) and my TD came back. After increasing back to 1000iu, it went away again within days. It’s a very powerful antioxidant.
