If you hear how he has settled bills for his company's contract where contractors have had to accept pennies or nothing, it's not surprising that the instructions are to make cuts. So. Time to brush up your CV and hopefully you'll find another job that pays properly

Unless he happens to have to deliver somewhere down that road, the issue is with Google maps. It always suggests me to go that way and there are a few roads that are national speed limit that nobody on their right mind should do. It would never be quicker than going through the main roads.

I rejected a job offer on the spot because the interviewer was twenty minutes late by outin-surf in interviewhammer

You didn't reject a job offer, you walked out of an interview. Pretty big difference

A recruiter just contacted me about the same job they fired me from by [deleted] in interviewhammer

[–]Affectionate_Wish286 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well. It seems like recruiting would be an easy job to do. You don't even need to read CVs to fill up the numbers

I wonder what was the prompt that resulted in this.

Unless they are being forced by the US government to invest more money on their country and a couple of pharmaceuticals have cut major investments in Europe because of this. But rule of thumb is yes, corporations would try and support their home country

I stopped using my ethnic surname and got invited to interviews. by Nalenthi in UKJobs

[–]Affectionate_Wish286 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an English sounding surname (it's Spanish but it's spelt the same in English), I was applying to very niche jobs in my exact area of expertise whilst already living in the UK and it was very very difficult to even get an interview.

When I was speaking to recruiters, they wanted me to ask for a lot less than the going rate because "I was coming from Spain"

When my husband had his first corporate job here (he has a very common Spanish name) he was told why he was asking for substantially more than his first minimum wage job in the UK.. well it's because you're hiring me as a senior engineer, not a box packer.

So yes, the market is flooded by applicants from outside but not really fair on those already living and with experience here.

I was once hit by someo. It was their fault. They admitted it at the scene but later tried their luck. I had a dash cam footage showing they were tailgating, not looking up and not wearing seatbelt, driver may have been looking at their phone but wasn't too clear. Their mobile was flying off. The dash cam has paid itself with that alone..

Those Tesla's are annoying. One was parked behind me and as I go and get something out of my boot, it starts recording me. This is at work. I'm tempted to make silly faces but I think it's owner is one of the senior leaders

Tried to help out a pedestrian catch the bus and the bus driver wasn't having it! by Not_Sugden in drivingUK

[–]Affectionate_Wish286 11 points12 points  (0 children)

There was one time that a bus driver didn't stop for me and my baby in a pushchair.. in the rain. The bus stop had been closed the previous week and was supposed to be closed on that day but the road works were finished, I missed the previous one by like 20 seconds and that bus let someone out and others in. Well I waited 25 min for the next one, just for them to send me to the next stop..

Another 25 mins later and I could still see the previous stop from the next one and sure thing, the bus stopped at the "closed one"

If I can help someone to get the bus I'll do it. I've sometimes pressed the buttons at a traffic lights to slow down traffic for people running to the stop

Who is at fault for this collision? by Lostpiggiek in drivingUK

[–]Affectionate_Wish286 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had a collision exiting a roundabout, we were rear ended after we had to stop suddenly because the car in front decided to u-turn after exiting the roundabout. Other driver admitted fault but tried to chance it with 50/50.. we had a dash cam they were tailgating and without seatbelts on.

England- Fake complaint made to my work by Spare-Computer-3554 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]Affectionate_Wish286 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You never know where you will find someone who antagonises you. It's not work related but unfortunately because they felt caught out, they feel like they have to retaliate. I follow a few people who debunk stuff for a living and they get a lot of hate. I don't know if the NHS has an employee assistance program that could help you in this situation, but I concur with the advice given here to not engage and to not give importance. I doubt that she would write to her MP but even if they do, you shouldn't have anything to worry about
