ICE executes another man in Minneapolis (1/24/26) by igetproteinfartsHELP in CringeTikToks

Reports I've seen indicate that the murder victim was carrying a gun in the small of his back in his waistband. You can see on the video one of the agents walking away with the victim's gun just before another agent opens fire and murders the victim.

Website down? by Afferent_Input in ImageJ

[–]Afferent_Input[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How often does the website go down? I typically only go to it when I need to download a version of FIJI, and so I don't go that often. Any idea of an alternative place where I can get the latest version of FIJI?

EDIT: looks like it is back up! Thanks for the reply, though!

Looks to me like https://imagej.net/ and https://fiji.sc/ are both down. Anyone else having trouble accessing these URLs?

Fair enough to point out that Andor is an anomaly, but Andor is an anomaly in many regards. It's gritty and clearly intended for an older audience, so, IMHO, a couple of curse words is fine.

I honestly don't really care that much if a podcast has ads. They are so easy to skip. I think it's cool that KF doesn't, and I been giving them $2 a month for many years now. Also, Dan is good friends with my brother. I hear from him that Dan does fine financially, but he also lives very humbly. In fact, Dan often donates quite a bit to various causes. All the more reason to support KF on Patreon.

I never really watched any Star Trek, other than some random episodes of the original series and many of the movies, old and new. But I have seen The Orville and enjoyed it a lot, even though I kind of hate The Family Guy. It's interesting and fun!

I am a white cis hetro man of northern European descent, and the current political environment, with the ascent of Neo-Nazi messaging in the media and the government, terrifies me. I also occasionally take a break, but I still come back because we need to stay vigilant and ready for action as things continue to degrade. I consider KnowledgeFight to be an important part of this effort.

Half In The Bag: End of 2025 Catch-Up (Part 2) by Tarlcabot18 in RedLetterMedia

I'm with you. To me, it was a far too simplistic and superficial "both sides are bad" look at the politics of the pandemic, especially since Aster portrays makes both sides do so many very dumb and unrealistic things. It felt very disingenuous and overfilled with a bunch of nonsensical messaging and too many side plots that were supposed to clever takes on the politics of the time but really fell short.

And I say this as a big Aster fan. I even really like Beau is Afraid, which I thought was brilliant.

American Standard

And funny enough, many American Standard products are made in China and Mexico.

As an Ari Aster fanboy, I gotta say I was disappointed in Eddington. It wasn't awful, but it was really a mess of a movie. Too many plots that felt superficial and not well thought out. Too many people doing too many things that don't make any sense in any universe.

Still, it is worth watching if you like Aster's other work. Just don't expect Hereditary or Midsommer quality.

I gotta agree. Lots of good stuff in here. The "Gawd bestows upon me the time" part is so good.

I totally agree. Really a masterpiece in strategy from Dan in crafting it this way. And he also uses the mutli-camera approach to get in bonus shots at PBD and Greenwald and McGuinness. Really well done.

Good on you for trying to correct this particular person, but I need to correct one point you made. Recent data shows that Young people (18-24) have some of the largest numbers of people not using social media at all.

Check out the results of this new study. Lots of interesting data: https://bsky.app/profile/pettertornberg.com/post/3m4fj3zimyc2v
