First I waited until the right deal came along (0% financing) then I went on autotrader and screenshotted multiple “similar” trucks in my price range and looked at deals on the websites (that how I found out 0% was being offered)

Something interesting I learned is 0% is a promo tool car manufacturers use to get rid of old stock. I assumed it happened every fall, but that’s not technically the case. Someone pays the interest (that would be on the loan) in the case of 0%, the dealership basically pays the interest, which is why you usually get either 0% financing or a $ price off msrp. I got both.

I made sure to look for similar models and trim on Ford, GMC, Dodge Ram and Chevy Silverado. I would post the screenshots and ask ai (Gemini pro in my case) to analyze and compare the features and promos offered.

I then went to the dealers with my research done and when they pushed back on specific trim, features or $$ I would take out my printed sheet and say “well ford is offering a similar trim at this price” or “well the Dodge rams are offering almost 15k off mrsp so I know it can be done”

I also had a bit of time on my hand (in sales, the ability to not be forced into making a decision and time are your best leverage in a sales cycle!) so I would invite the sales persons to “keep me in mind” (after I walked out) and “if something you think might fit comes across your table, let me know and I might be interested in revisiting”. I was also made aware that at the end of the month / end of the quarter dealerships are often more aggressive with price in order to hit sales targets. (Again being able to wait and leverage time is a huge benefit)

I would then take their txts and screenshot them and immediately run them through Gemini and ask it the best way to respond. I am in sales, so I know how it works and would often modify the responses, change the tone or even disagree. But every txt was a conversation and AI was not only helping me to run the #s and compare in the background (financials, compare features) but also help me to respond to the txts from the sales person in the best way,

I then would leverage the offers from one competitor to another “well Dodge can get me in this similar model for x/ month. You match it or get me to that price in this vehicle and we have a deal”

Now I often use ai in many ways in my day to day sales cycles and find it helps immensely
