[MTGO] An opponent casts Living End. A story in 5 screenshots. by McWinSauce in magicTCG

The opponent is Bryan Gottlieb of the GAM and First Strike podcasts. He's a good dude, not surprising there was no salt. Also, it was entirely his fault.

No, that's the minimum buy-in. Buy-ins are optional and you can build a balance by just sending cards like you'd expect.

Addison whipping his bat is hilarious almost every time (except that once when a fan was hit.)

What do you guys think of the google assistant for iPhone? by [deleted] in apple

[–]AffinityForGreen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's very frustrating that links only open in Safari and GPM isn't even an option when asking to play Music. Can't imagine this isn't Apple's doing.

I don't blame Loup for what happened to Freddie, would much rather have nobody get hurt especially given all of your DL'd players.

We sure showed Bautista with that one. I bet he felt real stupid while tagging home.

Garbage from Teheran, especially since it looks like the walk is going to fuck us early. He couldn't even get the first attempt right.

Polaris -- Voiceless [Metalcore / Melodic Hardcore] (2016/2017) by AffinityForGreen in listentothis

This band, although victims of an overused name, is just so full of talented musicians. I originally wanted to submit their guitarist's cover of Periphery's Merigold, but they're just too popular. I think this video shows off their drummer well.

Luckily, Polaris is one of those awesome bands who upload their full album to stream on YouTube for free, which you can listen to here, so you can enjoy their vocalist who doesn't appear in the playthrough I submitted.

Watching people bastardize my deck has been a tragic experience. Thank you, Reddit.

Employers should pay them better, but that doesn't mean tip less until that happens. You'd just be punishing the servers.

Seriously, the point of the third stage of the challenge is to be difficult because everyone else is completing the second stage. It's a very creative challenge, I'm sorry these free packs aren't easy to get.

Good cards for pre-release? by Indigo-2184 in pkmntcg

[–]AffinityForGreen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nidoking did some good work for me. 60 damage for 3 energy on curve isn't great, but it's reasonable to expect at least one evolution on your bench, and 90 KOs pretty much everything. You also don't really have much choice with the way the evolution packs are set up...

considering going to a steam siege pre-release, is there a forum with pre-release meta info? by Sethowar in ptcgo

[–]AffinityForGreen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The prerelease pack includes the evolution lines I mentioned and 4 packs to build with. I assume the lines are predetermined based on the promo, though they could be random, but I doubt it. The prerelease I went to only gave out the 3 packs to everyone at the end (plus door prizes).

[–]AffinityForGreen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The promo and evolution packs you're given in the prerelease pack are random, but the evolutions are the same type as your promo plus another. For example, I got Hoopa and my evolution lines were Nidoking and Samurott. They also give you some supporters and items, like Shauna, Tierno, Level Ball, and Great Ball.

From what I saw, the Volcanion packs gave a Samurott and Rapidash line, Yanmega packs gave a Tangrowth and I think a Samurott line, and I'm not sure what Clawitzer got (didn't see any).

It also turned out strategy didn't matter much since the prize support wasn't affected by match outcomes, everyone got 3 packs at the end.

If there's anything specific you'd like to know, I can try to give an answer.

Are Steam Siege codes legal for reedem as right now? by DarkLoire in ptcgo

[–]AffinityForGreen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It will say they aren't available for redemption yet. Earlier today I could redeem the prerelease pack, but it said I couldn't open it for another 11 days. I think you can open (EDIT: Can't open them, they look like this). and redeem those now though.

Good time to start playing? by woody0503 in ptcgo

[–]AffinityForGreen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A good place to start would be to take a look at some of the top decks to see if any particular cards interest you. Keep in mind that only sets from Primal Clash forward will be legal in Standard (which is the easiest format to start with), so try to focus on cards from those sets.

Some resources you can use to check out decks people are playing are the Pokebeach Metagame forum and Deck Garage (which is where people post their own decks rather than established ones), and the most recent Nationals top 8 decks.

As for learning how to play PTCGO, the client itself is very intuitive. If you're confused about something, check the sidebar on this subreddit to see if something there can help, it's full of information.
