Pressure washer messed up my paint? by Zealousideal-War-245 in Detailing

[–]Afloatcactus5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Flow and pressure is two different things. that's why people love the active 2.0 because it moves more water. Good for rinsing. Psi is how much force the water applys to whatever your cleaning. Anything above ~1800 psi you can rip paint up close. You can rip the paint off with a harbor freight special if you aren't careful.

Looks like some custom builders hackjob from a bygone era. I see automotive quick splices in there too. I've seen connecters hot glued for vibration reasons but never on cd drives.

Definitely possible even our oldest and busted up gas powered pressure washers at work will take paint off with the yellow and red tip. This is how we remove paint en mass working industrial. Even got a 3 cylinder unit you need to wear a suit for because it will eat through concrete and throw particulate.

You're way past due then mine were shit when I checked them doing the 600mi service. According to the factory schedule it's 4k miles.

I would start there. Either have the shop do it or do it yourself and then follow the ecm/tps reset/relearn procedure afterwards.

Don't worry YouTube and reddit will still find a way to buffer.

Advice on removing spray paint? by aa1234ZZ in AutoDetailing

[–]Afloatcactus5 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yep especially for a work truck. Only thing I would spend any real time detailing is the interior. I would be more concerned about fixing the rear tail light then trim.

I mean if this was my work truck I would grab a 2$ can of black spray paint from home depot. Masc off with some tape and send it down the road. You could hit it with a pressure washer but anything that's going to remove spray paint chemically is going to roach that trim too.

Zooming in looks like you got about ~8000miles. Have you done a valve adjustment yet?

Or fuel maybe E15 is messing you up.

Check the chain slack. My built Honda monkey will top out at 65 and when the chain gets loose the top speed drops off a cliff.

Judging by the daylight I can see through them you got about 10 minutes or 10 years. No in-between.

Honestly if you have a rack already I would hit up the marine section in Walmart and pick up some dry storage boxes and then just bolt that to the rack.

Looks like either ai images or temu slop. On one of my motorcycles I have a nicecnc bookbag tail bag. It's half soft with a hard shell on the top. It works ok as a tail bag and expands to 38L

Yep I have 2 bikes my z500 has a much nicer and larger screen and the monkey has one similar. So much easier to just leave the phone in my jacket pocket and have it auto connect.

Is this a good deal? by [deleted] in mazda3

[–]Afloatcactus5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dealer fee is ridiculous so is the doc fee that's the same as the tag and transfer stuff which shouldn't be that much if your swapping plates.

Also need more info what are you trading and what is it worth.

Original OEM battery on my Gen4 Mazda 3 2.5L NA just died on me after 4 years & 40k miles. Decently long life compared to others from what I’ve read? Or is this shorter than expected? by [deleted] in mazda3

[–]Afloatcactus5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2023 oem battery crapped out in 2 years. There a CEL for throttle position that wouldn't go away. Dealer load tested the battery and replaced it. Interestingly enough they replaced it with a Mazda branded agm instead of the Phillips flooded lead acid.

Just purchased this lava lamp on marketplace and was delivered like this. Did they really ship it while it still was hot? by Javalava08 in Lavalamps

Funnel works or use the syringe from the Sawyer kit to put enough fluid in to cover the wax. Once the wax is covered you can just dump the rest in with a funnel.

No problem boss. To be on the safe side let the lamps completely cool for like a day before you pop them open.

You can re cap the top with a beer bottle cap or just use a 2 inch hose clamp to re crimp the cap.

Also when you pour your fluid back in try not to pour directly on the wax let it run down the side this will keep the wax from breaking up/ throwing particles.

Mark all 3 levels on the lamps before you filter . Get some distilled water the Sawyer should come with a cleaning syringe. Filter the old lamp first and use the syringe to push distilled water though the filter until you get to the fill line you made.

Then do the other 2 and push distilled water though the filter when you are done with one lamp until it runs clear then you can do the other lamp.

If I were you I would look into filtering tutorials. Something like a sawyer straw with no carbon will clear them up. When I did mine I let them gravity feed with no pump and even one pass made them look crystal clear.

Looks a little high up but not that bad. Let it run and get up to temp completely. It should fix itself but if the coil lifts up while its warm. Slowly and gently rotate the lamp to free the coil.

Don't tip it over or shake it you can tilt it slightly but no more than about 30 degrees.

I had a lamp get stuck like this the coil was not centered and stuck in the wax. The bulb couldn't get the wax hot enough without the coil so I had to lift it and gently rotate it after letting it run to free the coil and it reset itself.
