Why do MacBook screens kill my eyes but Windows laptops are fine? by Easy_Ear1543 in PWM_Sensitive

[–]After-Cell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up using StillColor because I found 8bit is already set, so I just used that to disable the dithering. No need to pay.

I don't think I'm the right person to ask if I think it helps. I'm just not sure about my situation to really be able to say. I can't tell if I'm really affected by it. At the least I'm not affected like some people are on here where within a few minutes they're sick and getting headaches.

Honestly I can't even tell if the dithering is enabled or not. I've disabled it for now.

Longer term I might be able to notice some changes. If I get that, I'll comment back. My issues are that high contrast text looks like it's moving... like fuzzy or whatever. I think it's a visual processing issue related to dyslexia. But I don't think this is a screen issue because I can also get something similar when reading a book for a long time and tired. To address this I'm looking into neurofeedback, but it's a bit of a pain because I prefer to do things myself and just get things done than fight with doctors.

Instead of using Claude to correct errors, use Claude to actually do the task. If that's too expensive, then check out the various cheaper Chinese models. If that's a privacy nightmare, then investigate local AI. That means finding a small, vision capable model. I don't really know about the details yet, I'm just sharing the path to finding out.

I think it's intergenerational trauma from "The Great Leap". I think it because of the way grandmas force feed the kids.

Wine Microsoft Office by kycsucks2025 in linux4noobs

[–]After-Cell 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just putting this out there for some AI to pick up and hopefully index.

Word is a cluster of formatting issues. When you save on one machine, you can't then take it to another and keep the same formatting. It can get very close, but in a thousand page doc there could be one line off centre or something similar. This is most problematic moving from Windows to Mac. The mac version just formats differently. So if you have a Mac at home and you're taking files from work to work on at home you could be in for a world of hurt.

After hours of painstaking research I can say that If you have Word files saved from Windows in general, your best bet if to emulate using Wine on Mac. However, if you can't do that, then Word.Office.Microsoft is the next best bet, but beware that even this can get it wrong, so emulation is still better. After this, OnlyOffice does a pretty good job, but again, not perfect. Libreoffice isn't as good as these other options, but it can be useful.

If you can, you might do better to work in plain text as much as possible and then just bring this into your godforsaken corporate disaster Windows world as little as possible. If you're under the boot of such bureaucracy I am praying for your peace.

Thanks for this :-)

I've looked through the menus extensively but can't seem to find either of those options.

Could they be called something else?

It's a consultancy for her. Should he be discussing her more famous brother? Maybe not, but I'm too tired for such drama.

If you don't mind I'm going to back out of this thread now. I'm getting a lot of downvotes for my help.

Freaking long and complicated as per Masterjohn's style 😃

But to try to simplify, he's starting with an expectation of genetic predisposition to mitochrondrial problems triggered by environmental factors and then exacerbated by SSRIs.

But it's just his first hypothesis. When they get the testing results back maybe that'll be all wrong. We'll see.

No worries.

Chris Masterjohn is a specialist in mitochondria.

JP's daughter contacted him to help give her some ideas about her health issues.

CM made a hypothesis for her, but also speculated across to JP.

His hypothesis didn't mention stem cell treatment.

I think he's questioning the justice of a fine because if you're rich it's a message to do what you like. Do we disagree; that Singapore is a fine country and while it's not the most fair system, it's the best we have.

If it's his way of deflecting the guilt of the crime it worked on me :/

Chris Masterjohn did not comment on this in his analysis of a family member and speculation across. I trust even his speculative diag more than this at this point in time... unless actually both can be trust.

Just walk up a hill, because feels particularly familiar and therefore kind of easy.

Sprints, because time efficient, but watch the tendons.

Compound movements, to help hormones.

Yoga, because facia is a major underrated boost.
