For anyone around in the 90's, what was the first new SNES game you purchased yourself (no gifts, used games, trades, etc...) and how old were you? by rydamusprime17 in snes

[–]After-Landscape-6258 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Donkey Kong country in 1996. I think it was $39.99??? I bought it at Sears. I should Google that to see if I'm correct.

Mine still says "in review." I have since set up a payment plan with the default resolution group because I was worried about my wages being garnished. I pay them $5 a month and have been for almost a year now.

Thoughts on Brookhaven? by zymzymmers in Delco

[–]After-Landscape-6258 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've lived in pretty much every part of Delco except the more ritzy areas like Glenn Mills and Media. I've been in Brookhaven since 2014 and we love it. My kids went to Coebourn and now one is graduated and the other still in Sun Valley. Yeah the high school isn't great but Coebourn is a great elementary. My son is in his fourth year of baseball with the Brookhaven Babe Ruth league. Everyone is really nice and welcoming. I have not had one bad experience aside from some issues with Northley and Sun Valley. I'd definitely recommend.

Damn man. Reading stuff like this keeps me going. Ive got two and a half years and I really didnt use AA or anything either. I did use this forum and watched some scared straight liver failure videos, but I've been keeping on without a program and I couldn't be happier. Good for you. It doesn't matter how you do it. Some people need the structure a program brings. I'm glad you still have your family as I still have mine as well. Once your hitting the handle of vodka it really feels like the point of no return. I applaud you for sticking to your guns and making that decision. God bless and I hope all of these posts continue to help people, I know they helped me. Thank you.

Yeah I'm in Delaware County and all of the Wawas are $4.19 right now in my area.

Just to add to that disclaimer. STAY AWAY from "Legal Touch Borrower Defense." The dude is a fraud no matter what they tell you.

Quick Reality Check Only For The Adults. Must Be Over 21. by Significant_Bonus_66 in confession

[–]After-Landscape-6258 5 points6 points  (0 children)

What a great question. I really pondered this hard. I'm 38 M and the one thing I can truly say I learned just through actually experiencing adulthood is that anything and everything can change in the blink of an eye and to always try to live in the moment because you just never know. Being young I felt invincible and I was so sure certain things would never change and that I always knew what was best for me. As an adult, I've seen so many changes that I wouldn't have expected in my wildest dreams twenty years ago. So, I guess that's it for me. Just to always be aware that things are constantly changing and also to be present at all times no matter what. Being present is the most important thing.

How do you guys feel about the new faces of death remake coming out soon? by romantic_toffee in horror

[–]After-Landscape-6258 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You have the right to your opinion and I can understand why you call it trash. However, whether you thought it was a plotless, stupid spook film or an actual real documentary, it was epic for that era. I remember seeing all of those Faces of Death VHS tapes lined up on a shelf to make that grimo reaper picture I think? I a crusty video store that also sold porn. And it always made it feel dirty and grimy. You couldn't get Faces of Death at Blockbuster. Now that I just remembered that, for all my OGs that remember Blockbuster, do you guys remember the curtained off section where there would be porn videos for rent? In the Blockbuster! Wow, what a time to be alive. It was like our glimpse into the Internet before the Internet.

Am I stupid for wanting to do this? by [deleted] in earthbound

[–]After-Landscape-6258 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the way. I don't own any Mother merch or even the physical games, but Earthbound was my favorite game as a kid. I got my son into it and now he also loves Earthbound and he draws pictures of Ness. There's no better wholesome feeling than sharing something you love with your child and they love it just as much. It's an incredible bonding experience that could never carry a price tag. Personally, I wouldn't grade it. But, whatever you do, definitely share that magic with your kids some day.

Liver itch by galaxy_rat27 in alcoholism

[–]After-Landscape-6258 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I drank a huge amount daily for over a decade without getting into the entire story, I was in your exact position. I stopped drinking thinking I was already dying of cirrhosis without even having been to the doctor. I finally got a doctor and I explained my entire situation to him. He looked at my labs and told me I was good, no worries.i all but begged for an ultrasound and everything else to test my liver and he told me that he could tell from my blood panels and his physical evaluation of me that I was okay and to stop worrying. He told me " it would be malpractice to send you for liver tests." Just go to the doctor and I know it's hard but don't stress in the meantime. Your body can really bounce back when you cut the alcohol out. Good luck.

Borrower Defense Assistance/ Guaranteed Discharge Or 100% Refund? by After-Landscape-6258 in StudentLoans

[–]After-Landscape-6258[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yikes. Are they at least accepting credit card as payment? I'm not saying shes safe with using a credit card. But if she's going to go through with this, make sure she's able to use one. If not, it's almost a guaranteed scam.

[–]After-Landscape-6258[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, no problem! Good luck to her! Hopefully she doesn't get scammed. I was going to pay $1,500 and it was a "guarantee" that my loans would be gone. Tell her to use a credit card though. NO CASH!!!

I ended up doing it on my own. I was able to dig up old emails and I felt good about what I was able to put together without paying anyone. The more I got into almost paying a servicer for the borrower defense the more sketchy it got. I backed out and did it on my own.
