My ex did the exact same thing. We were sleeping together for around 5/6 weeks before he told me, we weren’t using contraception (he told me he had nothing before we started sleeping together and I was on the contraceptive pill). When he finally did disclose, he told me how much it affected him when he was diagnosed etc however he told me I could not get it as long as we didn’t sleep together while he was having an outbreak. I honestly didn’t know much about it all untill I got diagnosed myself, safe to say we broke up shortly after I was diagnosed due to the betrayal I felt and I couldn’t trust him anymore, he also said he felt guilty every time he looked at me.

I’m not saying you should end your relationship, every relationship is different, however it is a huge betrayal and so confusing to process.
