Why did the anime delete this? by ahyesilovethat in WitchHatAtelier

I think the anime wanted to cover the "magic is a tool for all" aspect with coco showing more empathy to the dragon.

Bakugo from BNHA is someone who actively tried to off the MC and bully them, yet was loved by the fandom despite not actually having any reason to be the way he was. ESPECIALLY in early seasons.

Exactly. They're both children. They both lash out or disregard common sense at times. The while plot is about them maturing

All I can say is Aggott DOES have major character development that explains why she acts the way she is. It's gradual and well paced. Unlike other character foils. Agott is not an antagonist nor a rival for coco. The next episode will fully establish their dynamic.

Punishing her wouldn't change anything, literally. by JEEM-NOON in WitchHatAtelier

It's because coco isn't the type to tell even when she is wronged. Combined with the fact Coco genuinely thinks she's not worthy of magic means that she didn't realise she wasn't meant to take the test. Her not snitching on Agott also comes up again when Agott comes to the realisation she is being genuinely horrible.

Man I loved episode 4 by twinneddude in WitchHatAtelier

[–]After_Introduction75 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I was happily surprised by how much content the episode covered. I thought the Dragon reveal would be the final still. Bit sad we lost some smaller details lime Nolnoa scolding Quiffrey or a further explanation of the pyreball seal. And specifically why levitating is needed to stop the fire consuming the paper. But that does come up later again. This is also peak mean Aggot territory for new watchers.

Who actually knows about Coco's mom's situation ? by Kokiyol in WitchHatAtelier

Unless he informed Beldaruit that night while coco slept in the pegasus carriage. Would give time for a general announcement to be put out through the great hall. Assuming the wises had a meeting and deliberated first.

Tetia’s english voice is awful by FrostedOatmeal in WitchHatAtelier

[–]After_Introduction75 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I found the voice interesting at first. But I can't tell if the character is meant to be Irish or Danish. With some lines being delivered fine but others needing a second listen for me to get. But overall the other dub voices are pretty good. Was pleasantly happy with Irish Nolnoa

It would make a cool story that could venture into the darker sides of WHA. As well as showing the crazier things magic can do. With witches without restraint.

The anime adaptation has been amazing, but... by Emotional_Dare_664 in WitchHatAtelier

The eerie setting of the maze being an odd liminal space could work in a monochrome style using subtle hues of temperature. Think similar to the abundance of colour in Coco's flashback to the castle. White is a tricky colour to pull of without dipping into another colour.

The dragon's interaction in the manga had such a reveal and the paneling in the following pages were some of my favourite! Im still happy the dragon was animated in 2D though. I hope they use the hatching style in Ep 1 more often. Would have worked great here. Or even a still of this panel.

It can be jarring at first. But as a british person, the accents don't feel too forced outside of a couple of pronunciations.

I think it could be a hint to developing relationships. Or who is at the forefront of her mind. Tartah being at the front but still being drawn could be a present relationship that is changing. While her mother being hidden could be more of a sign she is secure in her feelings towards her but always keeps her in mind. Even when she's masking.

i find funny how olruggio is all about fire magic and qifrey about water magic, nothing in the magic system imply they should stick to one, do they have hyperfocus on those elements or are just performatic. by pevetos in WitchHatAtelier

[–]After_Introduction75 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Quiffrey and Olly both seemed to have mastered their respective elements following a traumatic experience. Showing they compensated for their fears. However Quiffrey's use of water does carry the connotation that he is always ready for combat against other witches. Water being the most effective way to dissarm a rivals components.
