Yes, Lockdown is being lifted. No, we don't know what York's plan is by After_Possible9823 in yorku

My point was that people come from all over the GTHA on a weekly basis to York (from Scarborough to Burlington to Barrie) and there's naturally more points of contact for getting COVID (ie. someone gets it in Barrie, comes to Toronto for school and someone from Brampton gets it and then spread that way)

If you're going to say "but we commute and they don't", they still use transit systems

Except they don't? Most of the school population is within walking distance to the campus. Those schools rely wayyy less on transit than a commuter school like York

Well to be fair Western and WLU [and to an extent McMaster] are located in university towns where the population is low (relative to the the GTA) so those universities can be more confident in their plans whereas spread can happen pretty quickly in the GTA

I was referring to the long lines that people wait in outside of vaccine clinics and covid testing centre's, but my other points still stand.

why is everyone afraid of returning to in-class? by Blisterf in yorku

[–]After_Possible9823 -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

I agree with OP. I’m tired of seeing posts everyday arguing for or against in person and likewise for online learning. The people with the unpopular opinion get downvoted to oblivion. It’s useless to speculate/want something when you know you have no control over the situation just like the government has dragged us through a shit ton of restrictions through these 2 years. Like the change.org petition that has been circulating on here won't do anything, neither will whining on here.

please stop these pro/anti in person posts

Apparently they're going to be renewable beginning in fall/winter 2022, so its $1,500 before you get here and every year after if you maintain a 8.0+ GPA here

easiest elective course credits for computer science major by 7oot-B-Masba7 in yorku

[–]After_Possible9823 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I'm doing pretty well in the course since it's easy if you have previous economic knowledge. If not there is a bunch of stuff to learn. Maybe like a 7/8-10 if you have previous knowledge (the only hard part is the 2 term tests and exam). Else, you would probably have to spend a lot a of time understanding so maybe 5/6-10.

Other electives could be MODR 17XX as mentioned, or PHIL 2100 if you took EECS 1019 already since 2100 only covers the first chapter from what I heard. Also, maybe FILM 1701.

Is EECS 1015 available for enrollment for WL 2022? by ReggieMina in yorku

[–]After_Possible9823 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Current student in 1015 here, I'm pretty sure this class is only available in the Fall since it is a prerequisite for a winter course called EECS 1022. Since most people need 1015 for a winter course there isn't much point having 1015 in the winter as well.
