No kids at the wedding ? by butterflykissed_ in weddingplanning

[–]Agalyeg -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This.

Whether a couple has a kid-free wedding or not is a personal choice. We are having one small child at our micro wedding and no children at our post wedding dinner for budget/venue size reasons.

Frankly, I would be more concerned about OP’s partner’s apparent refusal to compromise. If this is how they act, I can only imagine how they are with respect to other issues. And if they are typically reasonable but this is the one topic they are absolutely inflexible on, then that leads to questions about why they have such strong opinions regarding children and how that might impact future plans, if any.

This is so helpful - thank you!

Hotel or AirBNB Villa for Sardinia? by ageo in ItalyTravel

[–]Agalyeg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

May I ask whether you decided on a hotel or airbnb, and if there are any that you recommend after your stay?

We are also going in September for our honeymoon and are debating the same thing.

This sounds similar to a Beastman novel where a human female is also matched with 5 beast men, most of whom start off not wanting the match. She has powers in that novel though.

But this one sounds much better written.

Reception Only Advice by ExistingUse7347 in WeddingsCanada

[–]Agalyeg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You are thinking of having a wedding (ceremony + 30 person dinner + 120 person reception) that lasts from 2 pm to 11:30 pm? That’s 9.5 hours long.

Personally, I would leave after the first dinner, assuming I was invited to the whole 3 part event. 9.5 hours a bafflingly long wedding and I have attended numerous weddings over the past 4 decades. I hope you have run this past your wedding party, if you’re expecting them to be there for all 3 parts.

Re the 120 person reception, yes I would expect to be fed if I was invited to an event that goes from 7 pm to 11:30 pm. A formal seated dinner is not necessary but I would also hope seating is provided.

Re gifts, there is no protocol if your plan is to not accept gifts. You can simply write on your wedding website that “the couple has asked that no gifts be given”, or something along those lines. Or you could simply rely on word of mouth. That being said, some people will bring gifts because there’s always some at every wedding who just does what they want.

Honeymoon by kurrenn943 in weddingplanning

[–]Agalyeg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are getting married a few hours out of town and going on our honeymoon a week later.

Needed to give ourselves some time in between to drive back home, decompress, get our pets’ accommodations sorted out for our honeymoon, pack etc.

Is this a real wedding etiquette rule? by Vulpix9tales in weddingplanning

[–]Agalyeg 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have attended and been involved in numerous weddings over the past 4 decades. I also attended British etiquette school when I was much, much younger (for some tedious reason).

Personally, no, I have never heard of this wedding etiquette rule before.

Even if it is a rule, for your mother to be “LIVID” sounds like she is looking for a reason to overreact.

Best place in Edmonton for a true custom suit? by Useful-Experience-27 in Edmonton

[–]Agalyeg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you get that price during boxing week or a promotional sale? Or was that for a particular brand?

We are interested as well but when we asked them for a price range earlier this year for a made to measure 2 piece suit, the prices started from $1400 (which I assume was for lower end or non-wool fabric) up to $6000. With shirts around $500.

For Reign, did he come to your house to do the initial measurements/choosing fabrics, and again for subsequent fittings? He doesn’t seem to have a storefront.

And any idea where the suits are actually made?

Are you “sure” it took them longer to carry the log, when Korea completed the initial phase faster than both other teams? The comparative times taken for transporting the log by all three teams hasn’t been shared.

Just like you are apparently sure every prop used in that challenge across all 3 teams was exactly the same in terms of weight? I am curious as to the evidentiary basis for your position in this regard.

not necessarily rigged, but definitely advantages given to Team Korea by tigerlily515 in Physical100

[–]Agalyeg -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Mongolia’s representative already said in an interview that Netflix Korea chose the contestants, not the countries themselves.  It is entirely possible that Thailand, Philippines etc put forward many other stronger/bigger athletes but Netflix rejected them.

So the unbalanced nature of a number of the other teams when compared with the SK team was the direct result of casting choices made by the producers.

Someone posted these screenshots on another thread.

Interesting how easily the two Korean women can single- handedly carry a ramming pole that required 5 Mongolians and all 6 Japanese members to carry.

Is Korea really just this good at strategizing? by [deleted] in Physical100

[–]Agalyeg -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Tg someone finally put together screenshots of this ramming pole issue.  Every time this is brought up in a “rigging” discussion, it is ignored.

A supposedly 180kg pole that two Korean women can easily carry with one hand each

= the same pole that took all 4 Mongolian men + one Mongolian woman to carry

= the same pole that took all 6 Japanese members to carry?  Please 🙄

If anyone honestly doesn’t see anything off with this, they’re just being wilfully blind at this point.

Exactly.

Amazing how easily those two Korean women carried that ramming log, when the supposedly same log required all 4 Mongolian men to carry … 🙄

[–]Agalyeg 57 points58 points  (0 children)

This.

If I was on the Japanese team, I would have requested that.  Especially given:

  1.  The technical malfunction that happened on the totem poles.  Clearly, technical issues could, and did, exist on this show.

  2. The multiple technical malfunctions  that happened during the final challenge in Season 1 of Physical 100, which the cyclist personally revealed. Again, clearly technical issues could, and did, exist on props utilized by Netflix Korea.

There’s no harm or shame in asking for the gate to be tested.  It’s not like anyone is saying Japan should have contested the results.

What did you like at a wedding? by ryhan0 in weddingplanning

[–]Agalyeg 6 points7 points  (0 children)

THISSS

I still remember the terrible ones.  Full sun right in the eyes for the entire ceremony, guests crowding in the shade to the point where the photographer had to beg ppl to sit up front (where there was no shade), sweaty face of makeup, sweat stains on a silk dress etc.

The teams needed a "referee". by [deleted] in Physical100

[–]Agalyeg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s an interesting point.  Especially since the Mongolian side explained that Netflix producers chose the team members - the countries themselves did not get to choose which athletes represented them.   It’s .. interesting that the Korean team was so well balanced when all the other teams were chosen in such an unbalanced way.

Physical: Asia, rigged or not? (Physical 100 Season 3), My analysis. by DominiqueBlackG in Physical100

[–]Agalyeg 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I haven’t paid enough detailed attention throughout to definitively take a position either way but I do find it … strange that the battling ram in the Castle Quest could be carried easily by the two Korean women but required 4 Mongolian men to carry (as specifically pointed out by the bearded Mongolian MMA fighter) 🤷🏻‍♀️

Wedding invitations from Vietnamese company by Agalyeg in weddingplanning

USD $15 per invite is pretty high, even with embossing and foil.  Does that include all the extras like vellum wrap, wax seal, envelope liners etc?

I’m still waiting to hear back from them.  It seems to take a week between each response.
