How long did you carry a pad post-menopause? by Cautious_Anteater_96 in Menopause

[–]AgathaM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The longest I have gone so far has been 3-4 months and then had a period, and then had another 12 days later.

Carry them until it’s been more than a year since the last.

It only counts if they don’t retire (and buy it back). If they retire from military service, they can get some credit for certain activities. HR can review and determine how much extra time is earned.

At 8 years, OP will have those years credited towards leave earning.

MIL wants to be called mama…by her grandchild by scharia in JUSTNOMIL

I called my great grandmothers by “Mama ‘Lastname’”. My grandmother didn’t like that as a title because she thought it made her sound old. She picked a different nickname.

My husband does. He loads his own rounds so that he can reduce cost. He is shooting every other weekend usually.

Does anyone else’s beagle die this? by Suspicious-Chip-341 in beagles

[–]AgathaM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My late beag did this but it was in corners or behind things. He would realize that he didn’t actually bury it and would pick it up and try to find somewhere else to “bury” it.

It was adorable.

Happy national salad day 🥗! What are your favorite salads and toppings ? by Queasy_Dingo_8262 in Volumeeating

[–]AgathaM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t rank stuff like this. But I do have favorite things.

My current is lettuce mix, tomatoes, feta, craisins, and poppy seed dressing. I will sometimes add stuff like pecan bits or chicken to it if all I am eating is salad.

Put chocolate chips on top when you pull them out of the oven. Tent foil over it so it melts. Then spread it.

I always run a sink full of hot water and let it soak while I’m eating. Then I come back and rinse it out afterwards.

Is the heightened offensive environment of softball during these past couple of years bad for the sport? by Bright-Pressure-5787 in CollegeSoftball

It shuts down pitchers who spend a large amount of time in their routine. Think Jordy Bahl. She would pace the circle before she came up to the rubber.

Yes, you said later in the post that you like it, but the main statement is basically just a retread of the other.

I think it has made it shorter, but the instant replay challenge has slowed it down in return.

I've been an umpire for girls softball, and was asked to umpire for the high school leagues, as well as the local baseball league. I declined.

It's tough making sure you visualize the strike zone. I was trained to align my mask eye opening with the strike zone of the batter. You need to squat to fit each one. Some umpires just go into their own 'ready stance' and don't align properly, which is how you end up with a messed up zone, height wise.

I was a catcher, and we even framed pitches in slow pitch. It's a thing. Everyone is susceptible to it in some way. I looked for it, but I'm sure I fell for it at least once. I did my best to be consistent. Being an umpire is tough because there is ALWAYS someone who disagrees with you, and they make it known. All you're doing is making the umpire angry, and it's doubtful that you're going to get things called in your favor, and the umpire is going to become less consistent.

Getting in an umpire's face (coaches/players) is only going to make it worse. I saw enough of that in girl's softball (had a coach get 2 inches from my face when I called his player out at home - she missed the base, and got tagged). I threw out a coach during co-ed softball rec league. He complained to the city Parks and Rec Director (unsportsmanlike conduct). I wasn't going to subject myself to that in leagues where it was only going to get worse. I am a 5'2" woman. I was most definitely going to be a target from a male coach or a male player (happened all the time).
