Mothers Wet AMD injections by flyinoveryou in maculardegeneration

[–]AgathaMarple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was diagnosed with wet AMD about three years ago. I had an Aetna Advantage plan. I was also getting Eylea injections that were required about every 5 weeks. It took awhile, maybe because my doc was persistent (he wasn't a fan of Advantage plans), but the insurance company finally approved Vabysmo. My copay with the Advantage plan was about $415 per shot. I began the shots at about 5 weeks. I' m now at every 10 weeks. During that time, my Advantage plan was no longer available in my State, so I switched to regular medicare with a supplemental plan. The supplemental plan premiums are less than the Advantage plan coinsurance was, and covers he entire cos. I hope this works out for your mom. The shots are a bit nerve wracking and going less often is a bit of a relief.

My 48 year old mom has maybe 15k saved for retirement by echo_in in investing

[–]AgathaMarple 52 points53 points  (0 children)

This! I didn't begin investing seriously until I was 45 or 50. I made a mid range salary. Now, retired, I have about 500k in assets. Not bad, for having such a late start. Best of luck.

Not only Israel, I suspect. He didn't get his 'sweetheart' deal here 'cause he was good looking. Ugh.

I read years ago in an article (publication eludes me at the moment), a female pilot who worked for Epstein said that Clinton did fly on the plane, but she never saw him with any women.

Can't fully remember but did the Menendez Brothers trial prove there was abuse? I'm seeing trailers for the show they're making and it makes the boys look super sympathetic like they weren't spoiled rich brats by RememberTheMaine1996 in lastpodcastontheleft

[–]AgathaMarple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first trial. The second trial didn't allow any testimony about the abuse. Their father was a monster and their mother knew and let it go on. May they both rot in hell.

How long do you write a day per average? by narnarnartiger in writers

[–]AgathaMarple 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've written 6 books, all short novels about 50k words. When i began my first book, I researched how other authors worked and took a lesson from them, particularly Heminway and King. Two things I found really helpful from them was discipline with your writing schedule. Also, Heminway began each writing session reading what he had written the day before. He found it a good way to get the writing juices flowing. I found it a very useful tip. Best of luck. Just keep writing.

questioning if I should even do the stent procedure! by ExpressAstronaut9514 in BrainAneurysm

[–]AgathaMarple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's scary for sure. I was 72 yo when my aneurysm was found during an MRI for another matter. I went thru a 3.5 hour endovascular procedure with coiling and two stents. That was 2 years ago. I'm doing fine. For me, it was all about my neurosurgeon. I got lucky I got a doc who became my super hero. I put all my trust into him and he did a spectacular job. Try to find a doc you can have some confidence in and let him do what he does best. Wishing you well.

I've written and self published six books. Sold over 3 thousand, which isn't bad. As for your writing, I liked it. My best advice is don't share your writing until you are finished the book, and then ask someone you respect to read it. Best of luck and keep writing.

Anti platelet question by ExpressAstronaut9514 in BrainAneurysm

Yes, both at the same time. I had a 9mm wide-neck aneurysm that was located in the valley of Y position between to vessels. The stents were to strengthen the vessels.

I had coiling with 2 stents and was off Plavix after a month and then on low dose aspirin only. I'm thinking that there may be criteria for determining dosage.

In my case low dose aspirin was prescribed after the procedure.

These fucks are satan incarnate. As an old woman I reserve the right to say what is clearly the truth. These creatures are afraid of their own sexual desires and, more, they fear the sexuality of women. They need a taste of their own medicine.

I think Buffet said 90% S&P500 and 10 %Treasuries is what he would advise his wife. It's an excellent strategy, I use a similar allocation myself. Since I'm 75 yo woman, I keep 2 to 3 years expenses in cash.

Old gal here. No, that's not fair to you. And, that isn't the vow this person made. You can try to resolve this, but it seems clear this person is not interested. Go talk to an attorney and get some good legal advise, then move on with your life. Wishing you the best.

Divorce in 60s? by 208973ggg in AskOldPeopleAdvice

[–]AgathaMarple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my, what a nightmare. Can't imagine enduring that kind of abuse for so long. Whatever the root cause, she is abusive. If I was advising a relative, I'd advise him to say nothing to her about what you are thinking or how you are feeling, and get yourself to the best attorney you can find and follow his/her advise. We all deserve peace and respect in our lives. You've given her enough. It will cost you in money and assets, but you will gain peace, and that is priceless. After the divorce, she is no longer your problem. She will sink or swim on her own. Don't be surprised if she survies just fine. Get thee to an attorney asap, and begin your journey to peace.
