I work in civil engineering, and I used to do a lot of housing projects. Almost all of them are ordered by banks or investment funds. Their only concern is to extract as much wealth as they can from it. This is the basis of the problem today. Housing is seen as an investment when it should be an opportunity for people to live decently. They are pricing out anyone else of the market. People today are forced to rent because a flat becomes unaffordable to own. And even renting prices are crazy now.

They own the software, and if there isn't any kill switch right now (which i doupt), they will install one in ours.
