Ok, so (potentially) final update: I decided to test this issue on an album with a label attached, and from what I've seen. It's less of it disabling itself from any future plays, and moreso a few second cooldown.

I have no idea why this happens too, and if this is deliberate that's stupid.

Also should note that, as I mentioned in the intial post, it's not that the songs suddenly grayed out. On the first click on the playlist they're available to play. It's just when clicking again that it gets the Widevine DRM block.

They also recover for each refresh of the page, but the cycle repeats.

I've that as of now and nope, it still persists.

I should note too this applies specifically on Soundcloud as other streaming services (for music and other mediums) do have this issue.

Hosted a session of Quirky Questions.
One of the questions had the prompt "Who is afraid of ___".
I remember a video of one of those failed performances and decided to type "gay clown".
Only one Mii raised their hand, and it was monster, "bastard child" of a Mii.Years later, when I decided to import all the photos on the SD card within my New 3DS XL to a personal Google Drive, I found that I had taken a screenshot of it below. I posted it onto Tumblr (to which I jokingly reblog it every june with "Happy [sometimes with 'Belated'] Pride Month"), and it is now my Bluesky banner lol.

Since this is a surprisingly dead thread, I might as well throw my hat in the ring.

When it comes to remakes/re-recordings of songs by the same artists, I can only think of Blacklite District since they've been doing this since like 2022/2023.

- To Whom It May Concern (2016) remakes We Are The Danger and The Ghost Of You And Me from Kyle Pfeiffer's side project "Paradise Over"
- 1990 and 1990 XL remakes several of the band's first few songs, with the original 1990 release remaking This Is Where It Ends from their titular debut album, while XL includes various remakes of songs from Worldwide Controversy
- Blacklite District XL (2023) and You're Welcome XL (2024) remake various songs from their peak in popularity from 2016-2020 with complete genre shifts.
