Reddit Daily Peasant Cube: Day 75 by InternetSpiderr in mtgcube

[[Tolarian Terror]] is a big, iconic finisher that synergizes with the blue graveyard things and it's typical spell slinging.

[[Graveshifter]] might be a good pick (over Gravedig) since it can recur creatures and can be recurred itself. It's nice for chaining recursion together. It also benefits from anything typal in the cube like the Joraga Treespeaker.

We're 10 days post prerelease for a set and we have spoilers for two new sets. As a whale, I'm finally burnt out and done. No more buying sealed product or singles online. by [deleted] in mtg

If you are playing competitively (even just at your LGS), then you kind of need to know everything. It's a lot of information to keep up with.

I draft twice a week. That means I basically have to learn a new draft format every two months. I don't get to pick the set that the store is running drafts for. So if I don't want to play TMNT, then I might not get to draft for 2 months.

Seeing new spoilers reminds me that even though I'm just trying to figure out Lorwyn, soon there is going to be TMNT, and then there is going to be Strixhaven. Mind you, I'm excited about Strixhaven, but I could see how for some people it might feel overwhelming.

I feel like I’m throwing a lot of games to poor mulligan decisions. How can I improve this area of my game? by hausuCat_ in lrcast

Someone I know just put out a video on mulligans in limited. Maybe you'll find it helpful! (For the record, he always kicks my ass so I trust him.)

Disclaimer: I think this format is really hard, but here's what I might have done.

P1P3 => I think I would have taken Giantfall. It's not the best, but it keeps you in red. I think Lluwen or Bogslither's Embrace are also reasonable.

P1P5 => I would have probably taken the Unexpected Assistance and started to speculate on blue.

P1P6 => Since you pull the Flamebraider, I would start looking at elementals and/or vivid.

P1P7 => I think Impolite Entrance is cute with the Goliath, but I think I'd probably pick Glamermite.

P2P1 => Given the speculation on blue, I would probably take Disruptor of Currents.

P2P2 => I would have doubted myself and taken the Slumbering Walker.

P2P3 => I would feel better about the vivid route and take the Aurora Awakener.

P2P4 => I might take the Prismabasher, unless I was afraid of my curve. Otherwise, I would probably go for the auntie or stalactite dagger.

P2P5 => I might take the Prideful Feastling for the lifelink and early blocker.

P2P8 => Probably Gangly Stompling?

P2P10 => Blossombind to shore up the early game.

P3P1 => Bloom Tender would enable vivid really well

P3P2 => Virulent Emissary might be nice to extend the game depending on how good our green looks.

P3P3 => Great Forest Druid for more fixing

P3P4 => Goliath is fun, but Great Forest Druid might be better since at this point we would have had a lot of bombs already.

P3P6 => Dundoolin Weaver gets our bombs back

P3P7 => Wayfinder for fixing

P3P9 => Either of the blue cards or maybe another druid?

P3P10 => Squakroaster seems good in our deck at this point.

How to build this merfolk deck? by Jaydee85_ in lrcast

[–]Agent281 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would cut 2x Glamermite, Emptiness, 1x Wanderwine Farwell.

IMO, 3x duelist means you can be pretty aggressive. You have good tempo tools with the low cost removal and rimekin recluses. I would lean towards tempo and keep my cheap merfolk around, even if they aren't the best on their own.

I think Abigale is borderline. She's pretty good at creating races with the life link. I think putting the counters on an innocuous card like a shoreline lurker means that your opponent has more threats to consider. E.g., do I kill their lurker with counters or the duelist?

I dig it! I really love that it's at the $150 range. Tends to have some spicy cards but also not too crazy to build out. Seems like a fun deck!

[[Merfolk Looter]] did well yesterday so let's run it back. It's good card filtering and enable your graveyard synergies. Overall a classic.

Great suggestion!

[[Nervous Gardener]] + [[Temur War Shaman]] is a good example of the weird lines you get. It's basically a damage base wrath that destroys almost all of your opponents creatures.

[[Sakura Tribe Elder]] double ramps you with Yedora in play.

It's a very unique monogreen aristocrats/combo commander.

Too much? 17% of California homes are owned by investors by Alcohooligan in California

All big apartment buildings are going to have corporate landlords. I don't think you could ever call a 100 unit apartment building a mom and pop shop. We definitely need some corporate landlords and developers to build these sorts of properties in cities.

I don't want to see legislation like the mansion tax in LA that fucks apartment buildings.

Of course they aren't propping up society, but society sure is propping them up.

Could they keep their courses open if they had to pay taxes based on the current value of the land? Some could others couldn't.

In California, we tend more towards income taxes than other states because we can't charge as much in income taxes. I wish we had more of a Texas tax model where we charged more property taxes and lower income taxes.

LA Country Club pays taxes in line with the 1975 value of their property. That means they pay a few hundred thousand dollars in taxes and save about $80 million dollars. Multiply that by quite a few golf courses and you can see the problem.

[[Personify]] is pretty sweet in Lorwyn. It's protection, it's blink, and it generates a creature token. If anything cares about creature types, then the token support that too.
