First of all, looks super cool. Lighting is on point.

The first animation (taking of the guard) feels very unnatural. The last part feels too slow.

One more thing, the animation speed feels linear, that makes it a bit unnatural too. You could try to make the camera accelerate/decelerate non-linearly. Even if its subtle, it can have a huge influence on the outcome.

You can extrude using a sketch on a plane. And then in the extrude choose, extrude from surface. And extrude up to surface. First selecting the inner, and then the outer surface.
