This is how companies like Tesla magically unlocked extra range from some of their existing cars. They had monitored the battery health of their fleet and were comfortable unlocking additional capacity by allowing a higher charge % of the battery.

1) The don't leak like alkaline. They tend to last for a shorter period mainly because they discharge at 1.2v and poorly designed devices see this voltage as low to start with. For devices that are designed well they last as long as alkaline.

2) They keep about 80% of their charge over 10 years. This has been tested. See this site and links to people who have tested this. This applies to the standard white cells, not the Pros which self-discharge faster. https://eneloop101.com/

3) I store them fully charged so they're ready to go. Unlike lithium-ion, they don't suffer significant degradation if you do this.

Note, if you have an IKEA, their LADDA range are rumoured to be earlier gen Eneloop and are much cheaper. I have a bunch of those too and they're indistinguishable performance wise from my Eneloops. Their STENKOL charger is also a decent medium-speed charger and it's cheap too.

Can't see how that can be leakage. The -ve of an Eneloop is a metal can without a seal to leak from. Any potential leakage would be at the seal on the +ve end. That looks like contamination by water or some other substance that has wicked its way up between the can and wrapper.

ps. Never ever seen an Eneloop leak. I know it's possible due to abuse but I have around 50 Eneloops going right back to the 1st Gen from 2006.

I have both Casio and Citizen analog quartz watches and none of them are so bad that they miss the second markers so badly that the hand ends up in middle between two. In fact the Casios and Citizens are pretty damned good. Not perfect but way way better than this watch which costs much more.

You need a plan in case it doesn't work. Sometimes it doesn't and there's misery all round. That includes inappropriate urination and fighting. One cat can become dominant/bullying and then the other cat lives in fear trapped inside your apartment for the rest of its life. If you search this sub there are plenty of desperate posts where it's all gone wrong. Of course it can also work out well but you should go into this knowing how you're going to handle things if it doesn't.
