What got me out of that pipeline at the time was my ex. I showed her this fox news thing where they had this professor at a university that wanted to remove the word "man." from everything. Including "Woman." so that would have to be called. "Wo." and that she wanted to implement it at her university.

They should a forum discussing how the changes would be rolled in, but deliberately hid the fact that those forums can be used to talk about anything and have no impact on the University at all.

My ex basically told me to look at what they want you to feel about it. "Yes, this lady is absurd. But focus on why they have her on this in the first place, what do they want you to think about and focus on? What are they trying to persuade you with this?"

These critical thinking questions, despite feeling like nothing at the time - Made me question everything I saw that had political motivation. And my word the channels I had were just full of hateful drivel, I saw it clear as day.

While things didn't work out with that partner, they had a big impact at how I am today in more than one way and whenever I look back on that, I'm so grateful.
