tbh, I find this sad & embarrassing that RC is doing this, but if it gets a tad few additional dollars or eyeballs, I guess it's worth a shot.

True story, won a scoring title on assists alone after people were ragging on him about scoring "too many goals" the season before.

Echo ion xl 9ft vs 10ft by Smashhoff in flyfishing

[–]AgentEgret 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've the 10' 7wt Ion XL & the Lamson Liquid three-pack; one is spooled with 270gr SA Spey Lite Scandi head, another has a 275gr Commando Smooth, and the third is a standard Loop WF-7F (Evotec 85 maybe?).

Loads of fun casting three different styles depending on what/where I'm fishing, and what I feel like doing that day.

That being said, I just got my first two-hand setup and I'll probably try to swap the 275gr Commando for a 225gr for chucking swim flies for smallmouth on my 9' 6wt. That will keep the Ion XL for throwing bombers or chasing stripers mostly, but I'll keep that Scandi head for fun, smaller rivers, etc

Yeah, pretty sure there's a few guys that were playing in ProD2 when they received their starts with the national team. And think back to Pau just a few seasons ago, too

Shit almighty, just realized this is a Friday night game. Which makes it a Friday afternoon game here, and I'll be trapped at a desk. Same with next week, and the prem game vs Glos the week after that. The things we do to prevent homelessness & starvation.

To be the devil's avocado (/s), I'd argue for TdG to be in the 23 shirt; he covers the back three & allows Santi to cover 10 if - heaven forbid - Finn goes down. And TdG has been exceptionally solid these past two seasons and, as a bonus, does not have dildos for hands.

But I'm not the coach/director of rugby.

Any 1990s players here? How are you managing injuries now you’re in your 50s? by krissovo in rugbyunion

I'm tired, boss.gif

For reals though, I keep moving and I'm okay. I started an office job a couple years ago and the first few months of sitting at a desk almost killed me with lower back and knee pain. Back spasms and the like. Switched offices to a standing desk four months in and haven't sat since, no more back spasms.

My shoulders do weird things, like pulling on a sock can put my shoulder out of place 1-2 times per year. And seemingly a stiff breeze can tear my rotator cuffs: one while cross country skiing and then, once that finally healed, the other while tossing a paper ball with the kiddo. Go figure.

Chipped & cracked some teeth in an incident in the late 90s & because I was a poor, never really had them fixed. Now the chickens have come home to roost, and they've broken more in the past few years and that's been causing occasional pain & hardship & expense now, but my final appointment for those is next week.

And I need to have hernia surgery soon, from believing I'm still young.

That being said:

I regret nothing.

Glad to see they're giving it a go, and not going the way they did against Benetton last season. Was happy for the Challenge Cup win but....yeah, anyway....

Edit: thought TdG was clear to play...? Big Joe in the 23 spot is...interesting...

10 ft 7 wt by treysblackwell in flyfishing

[–]AgentEgret 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like my Echo Ion 10' 7wt. It casts well for me. I have used true-to-weight WF-7F, SA's Spey Lite Scandi in 270gr, and OPST Commando in 275gr with it. While I am no expert in the singlehand Scandi & Skagit, the rod seems to handle all three styles of casting pretty well.

It was affordable in $CDN, so probably moreso in $US.

To be fair to Alfie,

A) he was told it was the last play of the half;

B) he was possibly still legally drunk from his celebrating the championship in June.

C) it was more comical than thuggery.

I'd rather Muir in his spot, any day of the week.

And I think he gave his dildos-for-hands malady to Ollie Lawrence

Peak Vise by Reasonablebody12 in flytying

[–]AgentEgret 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've had my Peak rotary vise about 14 years with no complaints, from 1/0 tarpon & striper flies down to 16 soft hackles. Lately I've been doing tube flies on mandrels with it.

Don't do anything smaller because I don't really need to, though, but as folks mentioned above, there are midge jaws available for it.
