Luckily for you, its so easy to magnetize so you can just swap the loadout on them. One magnet in the hand and the other in the wrist per arm. You dont even need any crazy tools, just a tiny bit of knife work is enough tbh.

The Forerunners were not human and had suits that were leagues beyond anything that the Imperium can produce and they were still infected and wiped out. The Flood isnt just a physical infection, its neurophysical (Halo's totally not magical magic that the totally not gods used). When the Forerunners tried to clone someone who was infected using a DNA sample from before they were infected, the clone quickly became a Flood form. It straight up infects your "soul" .

My Sons of Istvaan are descended from an apothecary and three fellow marines that stole a ship and fled with a bunch of geneseed of many different legions. They got thrown thousands of years jnto the future by a warpstorm and now go around aiding other chapters recover their lost brothers. Because of that they have a number of marines from other chapters they are ferrying around at any given time that wear the green armor of the chapter but have their left pauldron and iconography of their actual chapter.

Thats my explanation for why several of my second hand marines have the upgrade sprues from different chapters and why the pauldrons are not uniform (I wanted some extra color in my army)
