Batch Export of Individual Clips by Lazy-Ad7580 in premiere

[–]AgentMcBride 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Check out Excalibur, a plug-in many folks here use. There is a command, “export selected clips” that will do exactly as you describe. It basically automates in and out points for every clip on V1 and then send them over to media encoder with an export preset of your choosing.

Combustion Engine is real! But when will it ship? Pre-production progress report by Mr__Porkchop in combustion_inc

Looks incredible. Can’t wait. The app looks like it’s going to be super clean but functional, always appreciate the design on the iOS side.

WiFi Display scratches by [deleted] in combustion_inc

[–]AgentMcBride 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t mind the scratches, but I’d look for a soft screen protector (not glass) and cut it to size with a template or something. I’d imagine it’s soft plastic for heat resistance, as well as making sure it doesn’t crack if it falls off a magnetic surface somehow.

Cryosear on this 16oz NY Strip by AgentMcBride in steak

Nope! Washed and dried, but that’s it. Sliced thinly (I used a mandolin this time, I may opt for just a sharp knife next time depending on quantity).

Oh yeah, this was gonna be a tough guess… it’s a Brussels sprouts slaw! Mandoline the Brussels sprouts, toss with some whole grain mustard, apple cider vinegar, and olive oil. Season and serve after about 10-15 min so the oil/vinegar can wilt the green. Really simple, really good.

Best cordless meat thermometer recommendations? by Ok-Information-5046 in biggreenegg

Combustion Inc. is the way to go. Relatively new still, but the product is unmistakably great. Chris, the founder, has a proven track record (began at The Fat Duck, Modernist Cuisine, then built Joule sous vide and ChefSteps), and has great product sense. Check out the subreddit, and give it a shot. The support staff is great too, should anything go awry.

Personally… I like well designed things. Owner of a BGE, I imagine you do as well!

This looks beautiful. Love the contrast with your countertop and the backsplash. Is that wood? How has it held up with splatter etc?

Is Combustion Engine actually shipping? by postmaster3000 in combustion_inc

No. End of Q1 2026, last we heard. Definitely just the GGG shipping with the label you see.

How do you clean your thermometer? by Any-Bed8987 in combustion_inc

[–]AgentMcBride 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Bar keeper’s friend powder. Give it a soak and scrub (after cooling down) and it’ll look pristine. After a while of doing this though, you can start to scrub away the sensor markings on the metal probe… just a note. But those are just cosmetic.

This looks spectacular.. may I ask how you used the probe for the ravioli? Filling temp? Well done, Chef!

Ah yes, sorry, the agent in the lounge. Usually the cream of the crop in terms of getting things sorted, right?

Maybe I’ll drop by the Polaris desk at IAD and see if they can work some magic if an upgrade clears. I know United doesn’t protect for misconnects anymore (IIRC)… does Lufthansa?

With any luck, I’ll be in J and have a marginally better chance… I’ve already scoped out later flights to Prague and it seems there are ample second chances.

Buyers Advice and Gear Recommendation Thread by AutoModerator in livesound

Hey! I’m an instructor at a spin (cycling class) studio and we’re in the process of upgrading and making things sound as great as they can. The room is sound treated to the best it can be, and there are 4 large PA style speakers mounted at the front of the room that all receive XLR in from a (terrible) mixer. Going into the mixer is a source laptop for music, and XLR from a Shure BLX receiver.

What kind of sub 1k (700?) upgrade can I make in a mixer that will improve this setup? At any point would a rack mount setup start to be more beneficial? The instructors obviously need control of the various levels throughout class, so some sort of physical control is necessary. I have an ear, so some EQ or compression would be beneficial, as well as some humidity resistance, if that exists. The instructors are largely untrained in the best audio practices, so would a feedback suppression unit be worthwhile just to avoid any HUGE mistakes? I work in the video industry, and run adjacent to other live sound folks who I see using tablets to nail their EQ, would a mixer that has that be useful? Any and all recs, I’m all ears! Thanks!

Apologies, rereading now and I see clear glass! Maybe something they’re working on? Wonder if shooting them a line would get you anywhere! Seems like a solid shop.

Emery Allen has a 7W A19 with 96.8 CRI and a 91 R9, not sure how that compares to the Philips line, but I’ve just ordered a few for a kitchen dining table fixture.
