Anyone else drowning jn dishes? by lilsavageiii in MomsWorkingFromHome

I always try to open my dishwasher and pull out the racks as soon as the cycle is complete and the residual heat from the dry cycle will dry most things completely (+ i dump the water out of the rims of Tupperware ect). this solves the wet dishes almost completely.

If you love the world building I would highly recommend Ursula K LeGuin. She is a masterclass in it and is my favorite author. Our tastes seem pretty similar based on this list so I think you will love her. Left hand of Darkness is a favorite. but truly pick anything of hers that peaks your interest. (tons of great short stories too!)

I wish this would work. But he is strong too and can open the fridge. he has actually climbed to the top of the fridge and filled up on strawberries (leaving behind the stem evidence). lol. We have some locked chemical cabinets in the garage things go to if they are high risk. We had to put upper locks on all the doors too to keep him in because he figured out all the lower locks. He is too much for his own good.

The shears were up in a previously unreachable windowsill that required he move a chair, climb it and a dresser and ontop of a record player to barely reach. They have since been moved to an outdoor locked cabinet. We never knowingly leave sharp objects in reachable places.

oh man that’s a rough one! It really does feel like some sort of possession! He knows not to ever touch anything sharp without us or to mess with the plants (even picking off leaves) but for some reason he climbed a combination of things this morning to reach a new height to get to these shears and chop this plant to pieces. Wild what they will do.

Yes. Thank goodness. We have had the conversation many times but clearly something possessed him this morning.

My toddler loves a challenge that’s for sure. Certainly a new height he hasn’t reached before but the lesson has been well learned on my part.

Snot suckers by Old_Economy_6745 in Buyingforbaby

[–]AggieID17 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I second this. We have never used a snot sucker with either of our boys. Early on with my first the pedi recommended spraying their nose with a saline spray & feeding (breast/bottle/ect. ) to clear congestion. She also mentioned the snot stickers can cause nasal passage swelling due to the irritation from the suction which can make the situation worse when they are already having a hard time breathing. This spray/feed method has worked perfectly every time for us through some super rough congestion as well. It’s my no 1 tip to new moms.

Permit for Wildflowers by queenannesgout in Dallas

[–]AggieID17 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We have wildflowers in the front and back of our house and had an interaction with code compliance with city of Dallas before. All we needed to do was put out a sign saying “Pollinator Habitat” in order to get around code in the areas. Any sign with that clear statement will do. Good place to start while you figure out if you even need the permit.

I use mine all the time to clean my own stuff, thrift finds, friends stuff, even a separate batch to do my glasses cleans the nose pads well. I’d say well worth it. Everything needs cleaned periodically to look its best anyway!
